"Canopy Keeps Our Tax Clinic Cases Organized and Efficient"

What do you like best about Canopy?

Canopy has been an important part of managing our Low Income Taxpayer Clinic, where we handle hundreds of complex tax controversy cases each year. As a nonprofit organization providing free taxpayer representation, we need a system that allows us to manage cases efficiently, maintain organized client records, and coordinate work among employees and volunteers at multiple locations. What do you dislike about Canopy?

One feature we would especially value is more customizable management dashboards that let us quickly spot cases needing attention, monitor employee workloads, and track progress toward our organizational goals. As a grant-funded nonprofit, stronger integration between case management, staff time tracking, and program reporting would help us reduce duplicate administrative tasks and streamline our reporting. What problems is Canopy solving and how is that benefiting you?

Canopy helps us solve the challenges of managing a large and growing caseload with limited staff and resources. As a nonprofit Low Income Taxpayer Clinic, we handle hundreds of complex tax controversy cases each year, many involving multiple tax years, extensive IRS correspondence, and representation that can continue for months or even years. Our biggest challenge is keeping client information organized, tracking case progress, and ensuring continuity when multiple employees or volunteers work on the same case across different locations. Canopy gives us a centralized system for managing client records, documents, communications, and tasks, reducing the risk of important information being overlooked. It also helps us standardize our processes, coordinate staff responsibilities, and maintain the detailed case histories necessary for effective taxpayer representation. As our organization grows, Canopy allows us to manage an increasing workload without a corresponding increase in administrative burden. Ultimately, Canopy helps us spend less time managing paperwork and tracking down information and more time doing what matters most: resolving tax problems and helping the taxpayers we serve.
