**What do you like best about Brightflag?**

Brightflag does all of the work for us and we no longer have to manually track the data within an Excel document.    Also, it compares each invoice agains the Billing Guidelines so saves us a ton of time.

**What do you dislike about Brightflag?**

From what I hear, it is difficult for our external partners to use if they have never used an e-billing system before.  We have had some complaints from our external parners indicating that it is not user-friendly.  I have tried to put them in touch with Brightflag, but I understand that Brightflag does not want to spend their time assisting external partners and unfortunately, I can't see what our external partners see so I don't know how to help them.  I think there needs to be better support for the external partners.

**What problems is Brightflag solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Brightflag is saving us time to go through each of the dockets as we have voluminous invoices and that all takes time.   We also used to have to track each invoice in an Excel document so we would know how much was spend on a file, etc. - Brightflag does the work for us.

**What do you like best about Brightflag?**

I have been an administrator supporting our Brightflag account for about 2 years now and I can not say enough good things about the system and customer support. The ease of use and integration have helped streamline our review process, saving time and money for the organization. It has strengthened internal communication as well as our relationship with our vendors. Our account managers have been wonderful to work with and are quick to provide solutions to any concerns. With our annual business account review, Brightflag is able to identify our strengths and weaknesses in use cases to adapt better billing and review habits.

**What do you dislike about Brightflag?**

I have not found anything to dislike about Brightflag. They are very open to adapting system changes to continue to streamline the process for their clients.

**What problems is Brightflag solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Brightflag helps our team best with time management. The amount of time reviewing invoices is significantly reduced. Our accounting teams spend less time chasing accruals because the system tracks that data input and provides multiple notices to the firms regarding deadlines.

**What do you like best about Brightflag?**

Brightflag's UI is very intuitive. The platform is user-friendly, allowing teams like Accounting and Legal to easily manage and analyze legal spends with little training. I also like the dashboards by vendors and by legal matters. It helps greatly with the costs analysis and make it effortlessly to slice and dice the data in different ways.

**What do you dislike about Brightflag?**

Would be great if Brightflag could offer more customized reporting options.

**What problems is Brightflag solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Brightflag helps manage our legal spend and legal vendor. The built-in approval workflow simplied our invoice review process and the well-designed dashboard, categorized by vendors and legal matters, greatly help with our costs analysis for the accounting team.

I enjoy the functionality of the AI, I believe it is complex but portrayed in a simple interface. 
I like the amount and attention given to the detail that is provided in the invoices.

**What do you dislike about Brightflag?**

There is a severe lack of Roles and permissions. There is a lot of sensitive data that certain users should not be able to see however it lacks the functionality to restrict users to certain tasks.

Solving the problem of unidetified costs or discrepancies that result in further costs that have not been agreed on invoices.

**What do you like best about Brightflag?**

I started using Brightflag shortly after i was hired. As a result the implementation phase had aready taken place. My first impressions when I was showed the platform by co-worker was that it was easy to use, intuative and when ever I had any issues the support team was quick to and extremely helpful. i've been using it more and more as I get more fimilar with my job and after 8 month my opinion has not change if anything it's gotten better.

I have not run in to anything that i dislike about the platform just yet but maybe have a couple of ideas on some features that could be usful.

It's help us solve and streamline legal invoices and keep track of spending and easly pull out report for upper management.

I'm a Data Engineer and needed to fetch invoice data from Brightflag to our data platform for reporting.

The API specs are well-documented and the web interface of your API is great for testing the API calls before deploying them to production.

**What do you dislike about Brightflag?**

There could be a little bit more documentation on how to authenticate to the web interface of the API.

**What problems is Brightflag solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Specifically for my department (Business Intelligence), the API is solving our reporting needs. We can load invoices and matter information to our data platform and Financial Analysts can create reports to combine our financial processes with other company processes.

From this point of view, I'm rating the API and the API docs.

Its an easy to navigate platform, and being sent emails is really helpful.

**What do you dislike about Brightflag?**

Because the platform emails over copies of the invoices once approved, it means less logging in for me to need to do, but this causes issues with being made to change password because of not logging in, and this was not easy as it kept looping around. Had to make contact with IT team to fix

The analytics and automation features have significantly improved our legal e-billing processes, allowing lawyers to manage matters easily and allocate resources more effectively and strategically. I also want to highlight Brightflag's commitment to innovation and client support, ensuring that our Legal Ops team remains at the forefront of  best practices

**What do you dislike about Brightflag?**

As our company works on a global scale, I'd like to have additional languages available, not only English. Besides, having a stage/sandbox environment might provide a controlled and safe space for experimentation, testing, and development, helping us to mitigate risks and enhance security

**What problems is Brightflag solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It is helping to improve legal spend visibility at different organizational levels (e.g Legal Ops, Finance Controlling, C-level, etc), streamline legal vendor invoicing workflows, reduce billing errors, and ensure compliance with billing guidelines. It also facilitates collaboration by centralizing information and communication related to legal matters, fostering better coordination between Global Legal team and Legal vendors

**What do you like best about Brightflag?**

We are currently in the process of implementing Brightflag and the team has been fantastic to work with.  Our implementation project manager and customer success manager have been very supportive through the process.  They experience and background have helped guide us with design, build and improve our functionality from our previous system.  They expertise helped guide us to improve our connection with Coupa and plan for upcoming upgrades.   I am looking forward to going live with  Brightflag.

At the moment I don't have any concerns or issues with Brightflag.

Having never used a system before, Brightflag has an easy set up process with hands-on help throughout.  Once initiated, Brightflag continues to provide hands-on support with a dedicated Customer Success contact.  We meet bi-monthly to cover any issues and we have constant contact as needed.

**What do you dislike about Brightflag?**

Having never used a system before, I can't say that I dislike anything about Brightflag.  I was manually submitting every invoice for processing, so this system has made my job substantially more efficient.  The administration of it is less time-consuming than manually submitting invoices.

**What problems is Brightflag solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I was manually preparing and submitting invoices before we implemented the system.  The system has improved my productivity a great deal.  We were able to better define our budget this year because of the information provided from Brightflag.  Our General Counsel has benefitted from the reports presented from Brightflag data.

The ability to capture data in detail and with relevant headers that are required for better understanding.

Its easy to use and system is comparatively straightforward to implement.

Customer support is of acceptable level.

We are using the system for all our Legal invoices across organization without any exception. Frequency of use therefore is not an issue.

**What do you dislike about Brightflag?**

Ability to integrate seamlessly with invoice processing and payment platforms. At least the renowned on like SAP etc should be doable.

Improvement in analytical reports that are being generated by system. Customisation for each client is the key.

Capture of all expenses related to Legal in consolidated manner at one place. ABility to allow external law firms to directly upload the invoices.

Brightflag is a clear and easily manageble platform which is ree for our suppliers to use.  It has been a massive help with sorting our finances and costs .

It would be better if  more functions were linked on one page  rather than changing pages between "Vendors,  new matters , invoices".

It organises our invoices in a more coherent way and they are easily accessible.

Ease of use. Confidence in reporting. Customer service from Lauren. "Can do" attitude.

**What do you dislike about Brightflag?**

I think it would be great if BF could be a bit more agile as well as predictive from a user experience perspective.
There are updtaes and new features but I think, to be competitive, know your customers business and use the AI to anticipate your customers needs. Be curious as to what your customers next moves might be.
Consider other uses of BF for your customers.
It would be so good to have a scorecard attached to Brightflag Workspace. We would use it then.

Very sharp and responsive tech support, as well as a great customer success manager that now takes care of our company.  She is extremely knowledgeable and nice to talk to.

Overall, the entire user exerience of Brightflag is extremely easy. Firms are able to utilize the platform with little to no friction. Addtionally, Brightflag allows us to have better insights into our spend to help us better understand where we may need to invest more time, money, or headcount. It also allows for me to monitor things at a high level and granular when needed.

**What do you dislike about Brightflag?**

I'd like to see invoices a bit quicker, sometime the lag time from submitting an invoice to pending for review tkes awhile.

Managing our outside counsel spend, invoice review, and planning for legal spend. It's benefitting our team by allowing us to put charts, graphs, and reports behind our spend for our F&S team.

I drive a data centric outside counsel management program at my company. The data that the Brightflag AI engine provides is without peer in the industry. I can offer more insights, have more meaningful conversations, and drive massive cost savings for a single reasons - the insights provided by Brightflag's data.

**What do you dislike about Brightflag?**

The reporting function in Brightflag, while very good for basic reporting, stands to be improved as of the date of this review (May 2023). Not all data is reportable out of Brightflag and advanced custom reports are not always possible without engaging customer service. I have linked Brightflag to Tableau to allow for more advanced reporting, but it is my understanding that improvements to reporting is on the product roadmap.

Outside counsel management; panel program administration; matter management and internal reporting; staffing rationalization; budgeting and accruals.

The best thing about Brightflag to me is how easy it makes keeping track of billable hours on projects. It also allows us to data mine our project estate to understand our needs and wants from partners and consultants allow us to amend strategy to suit.

Easy to review legal invoices before payment,  relevant information gathered on the platform, better overviews of matters and costs, possibility to report on relevant parameters, user friendly and easy to use. Easy to change settings without involving support. Possibilities for  customization, however, not on everything

**What do you dislike about Brightflag?**

Some of the functions are not 100% fit to my company's setup, but the system is flexible and often possible to find workarounds. It would be an improvement if the tool could be used to agree on an assignment/use of a Law firm on a matter (sign on Scope and Budget)

Their customer services is very helpful. I don't use it every day but find it a common sense aproach to handling matters.

We are still working on some issues dealing with timekeepers it would be helpful to move that along.

At this moment there is nothing that I dislike.

Simple invoice review feature - it helps our lawyers to easily approve/reject invoices; 
Timekeeper rates - this feature is constantly improved and it really helps me to quickly and easily check/approve the rates;
Budget feature - this feature has also been improved and helps us in our forecasts;
Reporting - simple and easy way to make tailor-made reports;
Accruals - although some reports are still being prepared by you manually, it's a very helpful and time-saving feature.

Customer support. Your company is assigned an account manager who sets up monthly calls to help work through issues and ensure success with the product.

It would be nice if there was more useful matter management functionality to the product. I believe having a broader use case would give users a desire to switch.

Brightflag helps our invoicing through e-Billing with outside counsel. It allows attorneys to focus more time on work and less time sorting through line items on invoices.

All the software providers are good at selling software, but helping customers to succeed, especially in the long term, seems to be more of a challenge for many vendors. Brightflag has a CSM team that deserves the name. From the first day of the implementation period through go-live until today (2 years post-go-live), the Customer Success Management team has been working closely with us to help us in any way they can. The passion for customers and the can-do attitude are outstanding, and not once have we regretted choosing Brightflag and migrating all of our e-billing data to their platform. 
But equally important, the platform was accepted very well by our in-house legal counsels, who praised the excellent user interface and easy of use. Brightflag's AI-Powered software makes invoice review effortless and efficient and saves us time and money.

**What do you dislike about Brightflag?**

Nothing to dislike really. Some feature requests take some time to be implemented, but this is the reality of the software industry. Our suggestions are always heard, even when they cannot always be catered to. Brightflag Support always quickly addresses any issues, both from us as a customer and our law firms.

Brightflag helps us manage our outside counsel spend and gain visibility and insights. The AI-Powered invoice review process, the fact that law firms can submit invoices in PDF format and many more features help us to be more productive and save money.

Brightflag is an intuitive system that offers a holistic solution for managing legal matters and invoices.  Implementing Brightflag has helped our legal team manage operations more efficiently.  We have been able to reduce the manual burden of reviewing invoices and compiling data for analysis.  The system offers a high level of granularity and provides insights into the legal spending habits and details of our outside counsel relationships that will help us build strategic relationships.

**What do you dislike about Brightflag?**

Brightflag is advanced in many areas and has been helpful as we manage our matters and invoices, providing automation that reduces the review time for our team.  We have been working with the Brightflag team to discuss our need for additional functionality when allocating an invoice to a customer.  The current method takes more time than our team would like.

**What problems is Brightflag solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Brightflag solved our previous manual efforts for: invoice processing, matter management, submitting accruals to finance, reporting KPIs to leadership, building strategic relationships with outside counsel, and implementing tactical fee arrangements.

I like the financial analytics and workspace features best about Brightflag. The system is user-friendly and has excellent invoicing and budgeting processes. Workspace is a great additional feature for superior document management on complex matters/projects.

I wish workspace also had a mobile application feature but understand this is not the intention of the feature.

We have many issues with our budget process; we typically do not receive them, or they would be incomplete, inaccurate, etc. Brightflag streamlined the budget process. Based on my experience, people at Brightflag are always ready to help their customers: support our ideas and try to find solutions even for our most complicated issues.

**What do you dislike about Brightflag?**

Dislike is a too strong word. Of course, there are functions in BF which need to be improved further (timekeeper rates and their approval process, etc.), but the company is working on these areas. Even if we sometimes have technical difficulties with the platform, the support team is always supportive and communicates transparently, so we can be sure our queries are properly handled.

**What problems is Brightflag solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Since we have been using Brightflag, we have had better data quality and more comprehensive reporting opportunities. We can support the Legal Department's data-driven decision-making more effectively.
Our PO, Invoice and Matter management related processes improved significantly. 
As we can rely on the data from the system, we have a better overview of our spend trends and a deeper understanding of our processes/areas where improvement would be required.

Brightflag has freed up a lot of time around invoice review and has helped to shorten our payment processing times.  Brightflag is also very helpful with tracking budgets and matters so we can stay on top of our spend.  Brightflag has been an invaluable tool when it comes to the technology of flagging invoices.

**What do you dislike about Brightflag?**

I can't think of a specific dislike.  If I ever do encounter an issue, I've found Brightflag's Support to be very quick to reply and efficient in solving my issue(s).

**What problems is Brightflag solving and how is that benefiting you?**

The biggest problem we are solving is giving back time to our attorneys.  They no longer need to spend hours pouring over PDFs of invoices.  Brightflag points out suggested cost savings on invoices and allows us to revert to our vendors to ask for adjustments.  We've realized a large savings in the 11 months we've been using Brightflag.
