I use BillMyWork for our consulting firm’s end‑to‑end project billing, and it has been incredibly helpful. I love how smoothly estimates turn into finalized invoices. When our strategy consulting clients approve a project quote, I can instantly generate the matching invoice without retyping line‑item details. I also appreciate the built‑in time tracker that allows our consultants to log hours mid‑client call. It keeps all project billing data linked together, helping me reduce errors and spending less time cross‑checking spreadsheets. The tool really fixes gaps we experienced before, with time entries tying directly to each project, digital storage of receipts, and seamless conversion of estimates into invoices. These features combined have cut down our manual billing reconciliation work significantly. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
The custom reporting options feel fairly limited. When I need to pull combined data for hours, expenses, and invoice payments for our quarterly client strategy reviews, I can’t tailor output columns exactly how our team needs. Also, receipt auto‑matching sometimes fails; several of our consultant’s mobile‑uploaded expense receipts won’t auto‑pair with existing project entries. I end up manually linking them one‑by‑one, which adds extra admin work during our busiest consulting project cycles. I wish we could build fully customizable saved report templates. Right now I have to manually remove and rearrange columns every time I run quarterly client billing reviews, and there is no way to save my preferred layout. For receipt auto‑matching, it frequently misses consultant‑submitted travel receipts linked to active strategy projects. It would help if BillMyWork let users set simple project‑based matching rules. These small tweaks would cut down lots of repetitive manual work during our busy peak consulting months. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
