"Basware Streamlines Procure-to-Pay with Intuitive UX, Strong Integrations, and Automation"

4.5/5

What do you like best about Basware?

What do you like best about Basware?

What I value most about Basware is its ability to bring together all aspects of the procure-to-pay process into a single, efficient platform. Rather than one specific feature standing out, it's the combination of usability, integration capabilities, automation, and intelligence that delivers the greatest value.

From a UI/UX perspective, the platform is intuitive and easy to navigate for both occasional and power users. Tasks such as invoice review, matching, approvals, and exception handling are streamlined, helping teams process transactions quickly with minimal training.

The integration capabilities are one of Basware's strongest assets. Its ability to connect with ERP systems such as SAP and other enterprise applications enables seamless data flow across procurement, invoicing, and finance processes. This significantly reduces manual data entry, improves data consistency, and supports end-to-end automation.

In terms of performance, Basware handles high transaction volumes reliably while providing real-time visibility into invoice and procurement workflows. Automated matching, routing, and exception management help accelerate processing times and reduce operational bottlenecks.

From a pricing and ROI perspective, the value comes from reduced manual effort, improved invoice processing efficiency, faster approval cycles, and increased accuracy. Organizations can realize significant cost savings by automating repetitive tasks and minimizing processing errors.

The support and onboarding experience has also been positive. The documentation, support resources, and customer success teams help organizations adopt new functionality and resolve issues efficiently, making implementation and ongoing optimization smoother.

Finally, the platform's growing AI and intelligence capabilities help further enhance productivity by automating decision-making, identifying exceptions, improving matching accuracy, and providing insights that enable finance teams to focus on higher-value activities instead of administrative work.

Overall, Basware delivers value not because of a single feature, but because all of these capabilities work together to create an efficient, scalable, and intelligent accounts payable and procurement ecosystem. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Basware?

What do you dislike about Basware?

While Basware is a powerful and comprehensive platform, there are a few areas where the user experience could be improved. The biggest challenge is that some advanced configurations and troubleshooting activities require specialized knowledge, which can create a learning curve for new administrators and support teams.

Overall, my concerns are relatively minor compared to the value the platform provides. Most limitations are related to complexity and configuration rather than functionality, and they are common challenges for enterprise-grade procure-to-pay solutions. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What problems is Basware solving and how is that benefiting you?

Before implementing Basware, I often faced challenges common to many finance organizations: their manual invoice processing, fragmented approval workflows, limited visibility into invoice status, and the complexity of integrating procurement and accounts payable processes across multiple systems. These issues led to longer processing times, increased administrative effort, and a higher risk of errors for both customers and configurators.

Basware has significantly improved this by automating the entire procure-to-pay lifecycle. Invoices are captured, validated, matched, routed, and approved through a centralized platform, eliminating much of the manual work previously required. What once took days of email exchanges and follow-ups can now be managed through automated workflows with full visibility into every processing stage.

One of the biggest benefits has been integration with ERP platforms and other business systems, allowing data to flow seamlessly between procurement, accounts payable, and finance teams. This has reduced duplicate data entry, improved data accuracy, and created a more reliable end-to-end process.

From a performance and ROI perspective, automation has helped accelerate invoice processing, reduce exceptions, improve first-pass matching rates, and free finance teams to focus on higher-value activities rather than administrative tasks. The result is lower processing costs, faster approvals, better compliance, and improved supplier relationships through more consistent and timely payments.

The user experience has also been a major advantage. The intuitive interface makes it easy for both occasional approvers and power users to manage their work, while dashboards and reporting provide greater visibility into spend, bottlenecks, and process performance.

In addition, Basware's support, onboarding resources, and intelligent automation capabilities have helped drive adoption and continuous process improvement. Features such as automated matching, exception management, and AI-driven invoice processing reduce manual intervention and improve overall operational efficiency.

Overall, Basware transformed what was once a largely manual and fragmented AP process into a streamlined, automated, and highly visible operation, improving efficiency, control, compliance, and scalability across the organization. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
