One of the best cloud services from Microsoft. I use it to back up and recover data in Microsoft Azure Cloud, and it works well for that purpose. It has several limitations and pain points from the perspectives of various administrators and cloud architects. There are multi-cloud data lock-in concerns: you cannot natively send Azure backups directly to AWS S3, Google Cloud Storage, or an on-premises physical appliance. Moving data out of a Recovery Services Vault to a different subscription or to a different region can also be painful. In addition, because it operates natively on the Azure control plane, compromised root administrator credentials or misapplied platform automation policies can still put data at risk, especially compared with entirely isolated external solutions.
