AWS Lake Formation lacks an integration facility with tools outside the AWS environment. It also requires good knowledge of AWS glue, which requires an expert and is very difficult for non-technical users. AWS Athena and Redshift users can only access those tables and databases of AWS Lake Formation on which AWS glue has permission, which is a bottleneck in itself.
