"Streamlined, Scalable IoT Fleet Management with AWS IoT Device Management"

What do you like best about AWS IoT Device Management?

AWS IoT Device Management makes it much easier to provision, organize, monitor, and remotely manage large fleets of IoT devices throughout their lifecycle. I particularly like Fleet Indexing, Fleet Hub, Fleet Provisioning, Jobs, Secure Tunneling, Device Groups, and OTA (Over-the-Air) Updates, which significantly reduce operational effort for managing thousands of connected devices.

The console provides a centralized view of device health, connectivity, software versions, and deployment status. Performance scales well for enterprise device fleets, and native integration with AWS IoT Core makes onboarding straightforward. Although Fleet Hub has reached end of life, we previously used it extensively for fleet monitoring before transitioning to the standard AWS IoT Device Management console experience. What do you dislike about AWS IoT Device Management?

Managing very large device fleets still requires careful planning around provisioning templates, device hierarchies, and security policies. Some advanced fleet visualisation capabilities that previously existed in Fleet Hub are no longer available following its retirement. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What problems is AWS IoT Device Management solving and how is that benefiting you?

AWS IoT Device Management solved the challenge of securely onboarding, updating, and managing thousands of remote IoT devices.

Example: Manufacturing gateways were automatically provisioned using Fleet Provisioning, organised into device groups, and updated remotely using IoT Jobs. Secure Tunneling allowed engineers to troubleshoot field devices without requiring VPN access, significantly reducing maintenance visits and improving operational efficiency.
