What do you dislike about AWS and Cloud Services?

AWS is marketed as cost-effective, pricing can become difficult to predict. Without strong governance, it’s easy to incur unexpected charges from data transfer, idle resources, or misconfigured services. AWS offers a massive ecosystem of services, which is powerful but overwhelming. Before adopting AWS, define your goals—whether that’s cost savings, scalability, modernization, or innovation. Having a clear strategy up front helps you avoid unnecessary complexity and keeps the adoption effort aligned with real business outcomes.

Invest in governance early by putting cost controls, naming conventions, access policies, and monitoring in place from the start. Strong governance reduces the risk of cost overruns, security gaps, and environment sprawl as your footprint grows.

Build internal knowledge (or partner smartly), because cloud platforms come with a steep learning curve. Train your team and/or work with experienced implementation partners so you can avoid misconfigurations and move faster with more confidence.

What problems is AWS and Cloud Services solving and how is that benefiting you?

Infrastructure can be provisioned on demand, which leads to faster deployment, reduced capital expenses, and the ability to scale without hardware limitations.

It also reduces IT overhead and maintenance. Managing servers, patching systems, and handling outages can consume significant IT resources, but cloud services shift much of this responsibility to the provider. As a result, teams can focus more on strategic work and innovation rather than routine maintenance.

Scalability and performance improve as well. On-prem systems often struggle with spikes in demand or require overbuilding capacity “just in case,” whereas AWS allows dynamic scaling based on real-time needs.
