Amazon Amplify dramatically speeds up full-stack application development by bringing frontend hosting, backend provisioning, authentication, APIs, storage, and CI/CD together in a single developer platform. I especially like Amplify Hosting, Amplify Studio, Amplify Libraries, and the Amplify CLI, because they make it straightforward to connect React, Angular, Vue, Next.js, Flutter, and mobile apps to AWS backend services.
The UI feels intuitive, particularly for frontend developers who aren’t as familiar with AWS infrastructure. Features like automatic deployments from GitHub, preview environments for pull requests, and built-in SSL certificates make onboarding smooth and low-friction. Performance has been excellent thanks to global CloudFront distribution and managed hosting. Although Amplify itself isn’t an AI service, it integrates cleanly with Amazon Bedrock, Amazon Rekognition, Amazon Textract, and SageMaker when you want to build AI-powered applications.
For startups and small development teams, Amplify offers strong ROI by removing a lot of the day-to-day burden of backend infrastructure management. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
As applications scale, managing Amplify environments and the generated CloudFormation stacks can become increasingly complex. When you need more advanced infrastructure customization, you may end up overriding the generated resources, which takes away from the simplicity Amplify initially offers. Overall, it tends to fit greenfield applications better than highly customized enterprise architectures. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
