a big upside for me is the "out the box" features that are enough for wath i do. I can do solid modeling, cut sections from the model and if the model is updated teh views are also. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
I feel the downside is the subscription business model that they changed over to. we used to purchase a version of AutoCAD, in came on a disc and one could use it practically forever. it was a "perpetual license". one can still buy a version, load it electronically from the website, bu it is not a "perpetual license" therefore when the subscription monies stop, the access to the program stops.
