**What do you like best about AutoCAD?**

One thing that comes straight up to my mind when I think of Autocad is its extensive customizations and Real-time collaboration tools. Not to mention it's super powerful and also happens to be the industry standard! It also has a plethora of exclusive features which I don't really find in other software alternatives like the super smooth layering and traces option!

**What do you dislike about AutoCAD?**

Something that I hate about Autocad is when it comes to 3-D modeling it actually doesn't perform as well as we want in our team. It's in times like these when we have to switch to other software alternatives like Sketchup or Rhino! So, it's high time that Autocad brings upon major improvement into its 3d modeling features( more because now it's considered an industry standard)

**What problems is AutoCAD solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Auto-Cad is one of the most basic software that you'll need if you are in the industry that does 3-D Modelling. Before I started working with Autocad it felt like a big learning curve for me but slowly as time went by, it began looking super easy and the main problem it solves is that it makes the entire Modelling process or BIM super easy due to its collaborative and 3rd party integrative features. It's definitely one of the software with which I actually started my BIM Career.

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Ananthu V. | DAO Member, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** December 07, 2022

**What do you like best about AutoCAD?**

Auto CAD is the best and easiest software to learn 2D Drafting and 3D Designing.
It's very easy to find the use of various tools through the description and figures provided.
We can use multiple ways to pick up tools so we can complete the work very fastly.
We can easily create House Plans, Assembly drawings of Machines etc.
It has many built-in templates and blocks, so we can easily insert it.
We can create multiple layers for various parts of our drawings.
As an Engineering graduate, Auto CAD is an excellent software for all sorts of Drafting Works.
It also supports 3D Designing, we can create various 3D designs using it, but we mainly use it for 2D Drafting.
The design we create on Auto CAS can be opened on other Auto Desk Software like Revit , where we can use the plans we drew on Auto CAD to create a 3D model of it.
Also, the software requires very less System Requirements, so it can run smoothly on most of the computers.

**What do you dislike about AutoCAD?**

The software is very expensive, which is a really big disadvantage. Most of the students cannot afford it, but they provide a 30-day free trial.
There are discounted packages for students, but that's also very expensive.
The latest version of Auto CAD is Auto CAD 2023, but it contains a lot of bugs and it creates a lot of errors in the drawings.
I am using the Auto CAD 2019 Editions which is the most stable one compared to other editions, but it lacks some features which are available on the latest versions.

**What problems is AutoCAD solving and how is that benefiting you?**

As an Engineering Graduate, Auto CAD is one of the primary and basic Drafting and Designing software I mainly use.
I mostly use it to draw the house and building plans, Assembly drawings of machines etc.
Its helping my startup alot. Its also very easy for our customers to point out any updates they need and send it back.
Auto CAD has an infinite workspace, so we don't have to worry about the size of drawings that we're going to make.
We can easily import other file types and also export our drawings to other formats.
Modifing a drawing on other softwares are a bit difficult so we import it into Auto CAD to make the various modifications.

  ### 28. AutoCAD 'Architecture' straddles a weird midpoint between base AutoCAD and Revit

**Rating:** 3.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Kaustav K B. | Product Manager, Computer Software, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** September 14, 2023

**What do you like best about AutoCAD?**

The benefits are the same as the main version of AutoCAD - this is the best CAD software out there, universally interoperable within Autodesk's walled garden. But the existence of a separate 'Architecture' Version comes to question.

**What do you dislike about AutoCAD?**

I honestly dont know why this exists, given the license structure of Autodesk. If you buy the AEC collection you get both AutoCAD architecture and mainstream AutoCAD. This version accidentally gets assigned as default to DWG files and causes tons of printing issues.
And Revit already exists if I want a BIM style workflow.

**What problems is AutoCAD solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Its autocad meets BIM workflow - and has worked fairly well in that regard. This was pretty useful when Revit was not fully developed yet, but serves little purpose now.

It is trying to be 'Revit Lite' - But Revit LT already exists! Plus, if you get the AEC collection license from Autodesk, you get all the tools you need - full-fledged Revit, the main version of AutoCAD, Civil 3D and Navisworks. Its time Autodesk stopped making so making so many versions of their software.
