The clearest strength is how Assessly turns a realistic work scenario into scored evidence with an explanation next to every mark. We send candidates a short link with situations that mirror what our support workers and care staff actually face (handling a sudden change in someone’s routine, de-escalating a moment of distress, prioritising when two people need attention at once). Candidates reply in text, short video or audio—no account, no install. Assessly transcribes, scores from 0–100 and writes the reasoning. Our hiring managers can then sit side-by-side with the same answers, adjust scores if needed, and go into interviews already knowing who demonstrated practical judgment. That combination of low friction for candidates and transparent, explainable scoring for the team is what we value most. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
The main limitation we have noticed is that automatic AI scoring and video/audio features sit behind the paid plans; the free tier is useful for testing but limited for higher-volume hiring cycles. We also found that for very specialised behavioural or sensory-support scenarios we sometimes need to refine the template questions more than once to get the nuance we want. Neither issue is a deal-breaker—once we moved to a paid plan the scoring and explanations became reliable, and the ability to edit questions and weight them ourselves means we can keep improving the assessments. A bit more guidance or example libraries tailored to health-and-social-care roles would make the initial setup even smoother. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
