What do you like best about ArcGIS for Office?

What I like the most since I am using it is that it allows us to discover patterns and trends that are not evident in the tabular graphs and data. Maps can be shared immediately through PowerPoint presentations or through publication on the Esri cartographic representation platform, ArcGIS Online. Esri's Excel Mapping program differs from many of the current Excel mapping plug-ins, since it is one of the only ones that allows the mapping of custom regions. Instead of being limited to the standard limits of countries and individual states, custom regions can be linked to the corresponding data in the spreadsheet through GIS data uploaded through ArcGIS Online. What do you dislike about ArcGIS for Office?

Maybe the time to learn to work if you do not have a basic knowledge previously, but still esri has a free online seminar to learn how to use Esri Maps for Office (a global ESRI account is required, registration is free) Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What problems is ArcGIS for Office solving and how is that benefiting you?

A more impressive presentation in PowerPoint! Both the static maps (images captured from the assigned data) and the interactive maps (the zoom, panning and information pop-up windows) can be seen not only in Excel but also in other Office products, such as PowerPoint.
