  ### 2. Interesting features of AnyLogic !

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Pascual G. | IT Project Manager at Maxia Latam, Computer Software, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** June 30, 2022

**What do you like best about AnyLogic?**

Its relative easy to model variables for almost any problem. On the other hand, it is a design platform that can make visible situations of improvement in an organization and through its graphic modeler, it can impact those for timely decision making, which is why it is definitely an excellent option.

**What do you dislike about AnyLogic?**

Although it is definitely a highly reliable tool, it is important to highlight that to use it comfortably, the hardware is required sized according to the type of models that are developed and thus not fall short in the execution of the implemented dynamic systems, the above because, at As we make the model more complex, more processing is required.

**Recommendations to others considering AnyLogic:**

You can definitely consider AnyLogic as an excellent alternative for the development of dynamic models because it is an extremely stable and mature tool, which allows you to trust in the use of the product.

**What problems is AnyLogic solving and how is that benefiting you?**

In my case, I have had the opportunity to participate in modeling related to the health sector, developing simulations with up to 110 variables that allow generating a design for the different departments and service units in a hospital. Thus, it can be inferred about the spontaneous demand in the care service.

  ### 3. Easier to use

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Om C. | Strategic Sourcing Analyst, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** March 19, 2021

**What do you like best about AnyLogic?**

It is one of the best simulation software available right now! I used it in one of my academic projects last semester and hands down it was the easiest software to learn quickly and get started with working on it. I used it for warehouse layout design and my professor really loved the job I did with it. The features are very beneficial and easy to understand for beginners.

**What do you dislike about AnyLogic?**

It is a bit expensive for me as a student. It would have been better with a lot more support and community discussion forums like MATLAB. Sometimes, there are a large number of items available on the sheet which makes it difficult to cope up with the work that you have been doing. Also, many times it is a bit slow on the execution side where it takes a lot of time to perform the simulation even for a simple simulation which is quite frustrating.

**Recommendations to others considering AnyLogic:**

I would certainly suggest other users who are beginners in simulation to start with Anylogic which would make it easier for them to go along at higher levels.

**What problems is AnyLogic solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I have been trying to do the warehouse layout designing and simulating it to get the best possible outcomes. I also used it to simulate the production line in the production shop to identify the bottleneck processes in the assembly line.

  ### 4. It was an interesting and insightful experience using Anylogic simulation software.

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Anuj J. | Student, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** June 19, 2020

**What do you like best about AnyLogic?**

Anylogic helps in using the discrete, agent-based and system dynamics libraries together which makes simulation more realistic. Using Java functions for customization has been a lot of help while using it for my work. It also has many examples which makes easy for beginners to learn. The interface of the software is also user-friendly. All the libraries and other modules are easily accessible. Also, there are many examples available; which although require more in-depth explanation for new users; is good enough for anyone who has a basic knowledge of this software. Anylogic is a "one-stop" software for any purpose, be it for financial sector, healthcare, supply chain, logistics or traffic management, it has a multi-purpose use.

**What do you dislike about AnyLogic?**

I felt that more modules/documentation can be provided to learn from grass root level. Though examples are present it doesn't tell one how to do it, but only what has to be done. Also, one has have good knowledge of Java, or at least Object-oriented concepts to do good projects which is kind of a downside. Any learner who is not well experienced in this will find it a tedious task to do the work. Also, when compared to other simulation software's like Flexsim it is difficult to construct a model. Flexsim allows a 3d model to be made and simulated without the use of "blocks" as in Anylogic.

**Recommendations to others considering AnyLogic:**

I recommend one to know the basics of what work one is trying to implement. Just knowing the software will not help. Also, try to learn the basics of Java and Object oriented programming. It will surely help you to do good projects. Also, if you are a beginner, try to learn other software's like Flexsim and then come and learn Anylogic. New users may be intimidated with certain functionalities of the software. But if you get stuck anywhere the Anylogic is a big community which has many users, and asking a question on Stack Overflow or somewhere will give you your answers.

**What problems is AnyLogic solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Mainly problems related to Supply Chain Management like Warehouse Optimization and Management and Logistics.

  ### 8. Anylogic Review

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Gabriel C. | Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** June 18, 2020

**What do you like best about AnyLogic?**

Various simulation tools. Also easy to perform graphs and monitor variables. I think the statistics and graphs that you can do in Anylogic are very useful for presentations.

**What do you dislike about AnyLogic?**

The java interface can be tricky for people who don't know java. However, I'm not a java user and never programmed in java before using Anylogic and I felt like it was quite easy to learn.

**Recommendations to others considering AnyLogic:**

Use the "Art of Process Centering Modelling" book. The online tutorials that can be found on youtube are also very useful.
Another efficient way of learning Anylogic is to do the tutorials in the Anylogic program itself. I've tried the "Supply Chain" tutorial to learn how I can model a supply chain, which was needed for one of the classes I'm taking at my university. Anylogic allowed me model various situations that may happen in a supply chain. For example you can set a schedule that simulates when a distribution van may leave the distribution centre and go to it's corresponding destination. Another thing that you might need to use Anylogic is to know some java basics

**What problems is AnyLogic solving and how is that benefiting you?**

College related problems. I had to model a suplly chain for a college course and It was pretty easy to do so. I'm now interested if I can apply anylogic to CFD in anyway.

  ### 9. Versatile tool for simulation

**Rating:** 2.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** S C. | Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** August 26, 2020

**What do you like best about AnyLogic?**

Very dynamic and extreme detailing can be done. Features are extremely beneficial. All sorts of simulations can also be done. Visual representation is excellent. Agents are very detailed and perfected. For an expert, this is an ultimate tool. Representation of results are great. Also, agent based simulating is a significant feature. Not many available tools can handle agent based simulation. The software advanced and is capable of handling and simulating large projects. However, significant advance knowledge is required to conduct such extensive project.

**What do you dislike about AnyLogic?**

There are some severe demerits. Its extremely complex tool. Java is often required. The software is extremely resource (Graphics/ RAM) consuming, The biggest downside is the programming tool requirement to feature important characteristics of agents. Therefore, it is not easily doable by all, and it takes quite some time to understand the console. There are better tools available for such scenarios.

**Recommendations to others considering AnyLogic:**

This is a very capable tool. However, it demands significantly advanced user knowledge to successfully operate this software. The interface and agent based system is quite complex. So it is only advisable for people who absolutely needs most of the features.

**What problems is AnyLogic solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Supply chain logistics problems, job shop problems, air traffic management problems. Its easier to demonstrate and visualize. Keeps the students interested. Details are great, such as the introduction of the sample camera in the job shop problem as an agent. Also, the graphical representation is one of the best available and is extremely engaging. However, it is quite resource consuming too.

  ### 10. Anylogic:Simulate the business specially supplychain processes

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Qamar H. | Import officer, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** August 22, 2020

**What do you like best about AnyLogic?**

Best practice to design a process to simulate the process with actual figurs and on real ground, the anyLogic provide effective simulation of supplg chain, manufaturing, mechanical and many other processes.
Very easy in installation, processes with more details on each step can be concluded by putting a data label or any such tool there. END TO END process simulation like manufactruing, demand, plants, capicity, labours every thing can be simulated and concluded the results before deploying it.

**What do you dislike about AnyLogic?**

Not easier, no open support is available. Business approach is purely understand and transmit into any logic terms, whicn are not common, it is not driven by setting a data file, like excel table etc.

**What problems is AnyLogic solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Manufacturing control system, planned manufacturing order with respect to capicity hence concluded optimised way by minimised or increased the resources as well meet the demand.
Concluded wastes and bottle necks and addresses them.
Change the layout of plant by simulating it many ways, changed it according to material flow and building structure.

  ### 11. I experienced anyLogic during my university background as a logistic engineer.

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Glass, Ceramics & Concrete | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** August 18, 2020

**What do you like best about AnyLogic?**

AnyLogic is capable to give smart visualization models and interactive animations along with an extensive object libraries.
Unlike other simulation development methods, AnyLogic does not rely only on isolated events; it often integrates machine dynamics and methodologies depending on the agents. AnyLogic holds the reputation of being the first machine simulation tool to incorporate a multi-method methodology for better precision and consistency in the scenarios.
Creating business scenarios from scratch in AnyLogic is not anything novice users should be expected to understand immediately; nevertheless, AnyLogic may feel like playing around in SimCity after playing around with established models and prototypes.
I loved the multi-method market simulation strategy, and they really appreciate the exceptional simplicity and the freedom to access and modify the source code on the fly.

**What do you dislike about AnyLogic?**

It can be difficult sometimes to visualize the entire model, because there are too many items in the sheet.
The discrete approach of events is suitable for the industrial industry, it is not the greatest as it incorporates multiple external interactions and individual objects. AnyLogic might not be the simplest program to know in simulation, but it's worth studying and applying.

**Recommendations to others considering AnyLogic:**

I think that the main strength of AnyLogic is being able to incorporate the agent-based and system-dynamics simulation frameworks. I strongy reccomend it for that.
Users that are not acquainted with programming can often dismiss displaying the source code stand, but the many feature sets, resources and variable controls will render AnyLogic look daunting.
Also the error notes are not obvious, so much of the time I didn't realize what was incorrect.
The learning curve is steep without adequate instruction I 'd understand why people would struggle with the app at first.

**What problems is AnyLogic solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I've modelled an industrial symbiosis plan.
In the final model I could demonstrate that my project was efficient from an economic point of view.

  ### 12. Simulation with Anylogic

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Mudssar A. | Asst. Manager Porcurement Quality Control, Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**What do you like best about AnyLogic?**

Bestever tool to simulate the supply chain processes, easy installation, smoothly working, pre build modles are avaiable to edit and configure manufacturing models.
new processes can be designed and tested throughly before implementing. The constraints, problems, bottle necks can be determined and addresse accordingly.
Data is available on each control step, SPC pramaters like distributions with formulas can be set.

**What do you dislike about AnyLogic?**

Difficult to use, general and standared terms are not used in GUI, specially trainig of each fucntion, module is required to be expert.
Example are not enough to deploy the processes, even many features are missing in manufacturing example.
Less active on dicussion forum, no any spcial web discussion forum is available to discuss the problems and get help.

**What problems is AnyLogic solving and how is that benefiting you?**

In supply chain, demand forecasting by simulating the sale process, capicity plannig for manufacturing simulation, addressed que management, bottle necks.
Simulated shortgaes, over stock by processing replinishmet cycle and sales demand.
Shorten the lead time, cycle time by simulating the manufacturing process then got the bottle necks and constraints and throughput time.
hence too shorten the conversion cycle.

**What do you like best about AnyLogic?**

I think the interface is nice and easy to learn when compared to other simulation Softwares, and the ability to work with java is awesome.

**What do you dislike about AnyLogic?**

Well, I think they can improve some things like maybe a wider documentation (They already have fairly good documentation, but more can be added). In agent-based simulations, they should clearly mention on their website about which version of AnyLogic(There is a simple, a student, and a professional) will be able to accommodate how many number of agents.

**Recommendations to others considering AnyLogic:**

Please look for this software before going to any other one. You will get all the guidance from their site only, and it is a really popular one, so you will get some ready-models for learning too.

**What problems is AnyLogic solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I made a simulation with AnyLogic, the research paper on the same is accepted at the Winter Simulation Conference 2019 (https://ieeexplore.ieee.org/abstract/document/9004658). The benefits are the same as described in "What do I like best".

  ### 35. A simulation tool for all industries

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Automotive | Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** April 18, 2019

**What do you like best about AnyLogic?**

Anylogic is a tool which can be used in almost all industries and not limiting to manufacturing. It is by far the most capable simulation tool. The built in Java programming offers great capability to custom simulation needs. It is the only tool to offer discrete events, agent based and system dynamics simulation modeling in one program. Interface and speed is better than simul8 and plant simulation. Its less quirky than the other simulation tools and java is easier to use than visual basic in simul8 and plant sim.

**What do you dislike about AnyLogic?**

3D models need some work unlike 3D in plant simulation where you can get in one click.

**What problems is AnyLogic solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I used anylogic at the university to develop an agent based model which was a part of my thesis. I used it develop a model to calculate RET capacity for a manufacturing facility that used a specific electricity pricing program.

Having Automation as a subject it wasnt easy to understand stuff first hand but with the help of AnyLogic we got a chance to get hands on simulations of airports and others.

**What do you dislike about AnyLogic?**

The thing that i could not understand a lot is that the software implements stuff only with commands and no actual automation is felt

**What problems is AnyLogic solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I was able to automate stuff and get in new ideas for the company in order to get in revenues

  ### 37. Simulation experts

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Siddhodhan J. | Web Developer, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** January 15, 2019

**What do you like best about AnyLogic?**

Any logic allows people to learn methods of simulation before hand and helps people understand issues without actually facing them

**What do you dislike about AnyLogic?**

The worse part about having this software is the amount of space that is required to install this software and the amount of knowledge required to go ahead

**What do you like best about AnyLogic?**

When schooling we get a lot of times at understanding the need to simulate stuff before actually facing the final frontier. Having hands on simulation is always an advantage

**What do you dislike about AnyLogic?**

The only few things that AnyLogic needs is training, understanding and the speed to cope up with.

**What problems is AnyLogic solving and how is that benefiting you?**

AnyLogic helps a person understand poblems that may arise and that predicts or atleast prepares people for future issues.

  ### 39. Comprehensive and flexible simulation software

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Christian S. | Data Scientist, Hospital & Health Care, Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** April 26, 2018

**What do you like best about AnyLogic?**

The ability to combine various libraries is indeed a valued strength. For instance, when it comes to modelling individual behaviour of components within a process flow, I find the combination of discrete event simulation and agent-based modelling to be of particular interest.

**What do you dislike about AnyLogic?**

I regret that the options to share models and experience is so limited - this has not to do with the cloud based option at AnyLogic; rather the very limited number of users.
More example/help models would be a great addition.

**What problems is AnyLogic solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I have developed a couple of discrete event simulation which analyzes specific capacity issues at my current workplace. These aid in answering management's concerns.
Currently, I am collaborating with the Technical University of Denmark creating a model which combines the Fluid - and Process Modelling Libraries in the attempt of tracking the use of ressources in outpatient clinics.
