"Complete Control and Strong Network Isolation with Amazon VPC"
5/5
What do you like best about Amazon Virtual Private Cloud (Amazon VPC)?

The level of granular control you have over your virtual networking environment is unmatched. I love the ability to cleanly separate resources into public and private subnets, ensuring that our backend databases and internal microservices are completely isolated from the public internet. The integration of Security Groups (stateful) at the instance level and Network ACLs (stateless) at the subnet level provides excellent defense-in-depth. Plus, VPC Peering makes it relatively painless to connect different environments across regions. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Amazon Virtual Private Cloud (Amazon VPC)?

The pricing model for Managed NAT Gateways is notoriously frustrating; data processing charges can skyrocket quickly if you have a lot of outbound traffic from private subnets. Additionally, the learning curve is quite steep for developers who don't have a traditional networking background. Troubleshooting complex routing tables or figuring out exactly why traffic is being dropped between overlapping CIDR blocks can take hours if you don't know exactly where to look.
