Additionally, by routing uploads and downloads to AWS's global network infrastructure, we have the possibility to reduce network variability and Internet connection congestion. Another of the multiple benefits this tool provides is reducing the existing distances between our apps and AWS servers by automatically routing our uploads and downloads to much closer Edge locations. It also allows us to increase bandwidth by using 100% for transfers, thus minimizing the effect of distance on performance when uploading to Amazon S3. Furthermore, it is worth noting that Amazon S3 Transfer Acceleration only charges us for the accelerations effectively carried out, meaning that transfers not accelerated by this tool are simply not charged.
