What do you like best about Amazon CloudSearch?

Easy way to sync data between DynamoDB to Cloud Search. Cloud search console is easy to manage & configure. Different query languages supported. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Amazon CloudSearch?

Cost, it is a little expensive. Free trial is only one month. I wish they had some sort of Free Tier like DynamoDB, S3 & others. Also reindexing takes a hell of a lot of time. There is no way to disable/deactivate/pause the search subscription. I wish there was a way. We are a startup (4 friends working full time on other jobs & trying to build an amazing app on the side), it's been under development for the last 2 years, I have been paying for the last 2 years, even though the app is not LIVE yet. I wish there was a way to pause the subscription instead of deleting the whole index & recreating it when needed. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Recommendations to others considering Amazon CloudSearch:

If you are an AWS user looking for search, the easiest way to get search on your app is CloudSearch. Definitely recommend doing this than investing a hell of a lot of dev time in integrating other searches like Elastic or Apache Solr. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What problems is Amazon CloudSearch solving and how is that benefiting you?

We are a startup (4 friends trying to build an amazing app), we have integrated CloudSearch & are trying to have a search on the app to return all the data we have along with filters. We have triggers & lambda functions set up on DynamoDB tables, which automatically sync changes from DynamoDB to CloudSearch. Easy way to sync data between DynamoDB to Cloud Search.
