We felt Alvin's impact with us rather quickly, where we noticed dbt workload cost savings within the first week! What do you dislike about Alvin Automated Bigquery Optimization?

Nothing. And I wouldn't call this a negative statement, but integrating with Alvin should also be looked at as a continuous tuning exercise rather than a one-time magic fix, as is expected with any optimization journey. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What problems is Alvin Automated Bigquery Optimization solving and how is that benefiting you?

BigQuery employs 2 main types of billing methods. One that is bills based on data scanned on a fixed cap on resources, and another with a more flexible amount of resources that bills based on resource consumption. Alvin eliminates the need to manually analyze queries and execution history, and automatically routes these queries to the billing method that would yield the lowest cost.
