I’d say the best thing about Altair Inspire is how quick it is to go from a basic idea to something you can actually test. You don’t need to be a full-on simulation expert — you can sketch, tweak, run a few checks, and get a decent feel for what’ll work without getting buried in settings.
It’s especially handy for early-stage design, when you just want to see if an idea makes sense before spending ages modelling it properly. Probably the most frustrating thing is that it can feel a bit limited once you want to do anything more advanced. It’s brilliant for early concept work, but when you start needing finer control, detailed meshing options, or more complex boundary conditions, it can get a bit restrictive.
Some of the workflows also feel a touch clunky — you sometimes have to jump between modes more than you’d like — and the learning curve for certain tools is steeper than it first appears.
