Its very good, but clearly, getting better all the time. So I would not say I dislike it, I would just say is an area that will need constant improvement. Bookmarks, tagging, notes and sharing take it to another level. I find it particularly useful when researching materials for an industry/theme overview and write-up. Also, integrations (FileSync, Evernote, etc.) are super-useful. Thanks to FileSync, which uploads files from our system to AlphaSense makes them 'online'. It enables us to use smart search across our library of compiled third-party research (imagine how long it would take to find a specific topic/comment across 100s PDFs opening every single one of them and using Ctrl + F? AlphaSense can do this in a matter of seconds!) **What do you dislike about AlphaSense?** Helpdesk can occasionally take long time to reply. Citi is not on AlphaSense yet, which is a temporary minus. Also, FileSync does not have an option to choose which file types to sync (right now it syncs PDFs, Word and Excel, whereas the latter is not needed). **Recommendations to others considering AlphaSense:** Just try it out! **What problems is AlphaSense solving and how is that benefiting you?** Consumption of research in a smart and much faster way without missing anything important. Bookmarks, tags and notes make it easy to save and come back quickly to my findings. ### 6. For example, searching "SSS" will generate results for "same-store sales", "comparable sales", "comp store sales", etc... -View all/similar tables function - Single most time saving feature I have across any research tool. Within documents, you are able to click on a table (i.e. income statement), and receive multiple avenues for further navigation. Clicking "View Similar Tables" will take give you the option to view that same table on different documents (i.e. on last years 10K) without leaving your original place. Additionally, you can click "View All Tables" which will allow you to efficiently navigate from table to table within the source document without having to scroll. -Great and reliable email alerts functionality -Documents are distributed very quickly - with transcripts coming out often w/in 30 minutes of the earnings call **What do you dislike about AlphaSense?** - When I refresh a the page while on a company tab or in a document, I am taken back to the home page. - Needs to be easier to set and edit alerts - Wish you had the view all/similar tables for foreign companies - Personally think the sentiment indicator is pretty worthless - would rather see a stock chart... **What problems is AlphaSense solving and how is that benefiting you?** Efficiency of research and continued monitoring of companies - for the reasons listed above, AlphaSense has greatly benefited me in both areas. ### 7. I also love the website itself with the different panes to simultaneously show search results at the document level, then each of the results within the document, and then a large window showing the result with all of the context around it. **What do you dislike about AlphaSense?** My only gripe is that I want more content brought into the tool. Sometimes company presentations or other public event transcripts aren't always included in results. I would also love to see clinicaltrials.gov information easily searchable within this tool (I work in the pharma/biotechnology industry). **What problems is AlphaSense solving and how is that benefiting you?** It's really a time-saver. I use AlphaSense to research specific things being said by our competitors, and even sometimes to verify things that our own company has said publicly in the past. Before AlphaSense, I would do the same things by going to individual competitor websites and trying to find what I was looking for that way. Exporting financials to excel is quick and easy and really helps when building out an initial model. Alphasense also has transcripts out before factset and I find them more accurate often times, which is super useful right after a earnings call. **What do you dislike about AlphaSense?** Load times and sometimes pages crash when searching within a doc. The default to showing sentiment I think slows down the page and I wish I could make the default be to have sentiment off. **Recommendations to others considering AlphaSense:** Much easier to search documents than on FactSet. Transcripts come out faster than on FactSet. Also, being a cloud based platform, access from anywhere is much easier than on FactSet. **What problems is AlphaSense solving and how is that benefiting you?** Key word searches is the biggest use. Also exporting financials with the easy model export function is very helpful. ### 15. I wish I could filter broker reports by number of pages, to only see the lengthier reports that are more helpful or more easily exclude reports from brokers who aren't reliable (instead of going through the master list). **Recommendations to others considering AlphaSense:** Get it if you review a lot of different types of company and broker documents as its a powerful filter and aggregator of useful information. **What problems is AlphaSense solving and how is that benefiting you?** Industry and Company Research. I really like searching through all documents for multiple companies in a single search to get educated about an industry or set of companies. I have moved into a new disease area and am able to gain valuable insights into companies and their assets. I feel confident I will not miss important news with AlphaSense. Excellent customer support with on-line chat and follow-up. **What do you dislike about AlphaSense?** Having to log in! It would be great to have SSO. I used to have IE as a default browser and AS was not compatible but now that has been resolved with Chrome. Maybe it is my own shortcoming but I have an issue overwriting previous alerts such that I have two almost similar alerts coming into my inbox. Perhaps the introduction of Boolean operators and truncation. **Recommendations to others considering AlphaSense:** AlphaSense is an absolutely daily essential go-to for me to keep to to date on news and insights. How does it fair against another molecule/ class. How likely is the drug likely to succeed. what are the future intentions of this company. What diseases will they move into? what is a company's strategic intent? Quickly and easily gain informed opinions of the above. It would be nice to create a folder, Project A, and then save down relevant filings & research reports underneath that folder.
