"Simple Shop-Floor Tracking, with Reporting Gaps"
4/5
What do you like best about AlignTru?

I like how straightforward AlignTru’s task cards are for our shop floor team. I’m Yochiku Masa, Operations Admin Specialist at Nova Plastic Manufacturing Group. Most of our machine operators spend their whole day standing by injection presses, they aren’t sitting at computers, so complicated software is really tough for them to adopt. With AlignTru, operators can quickly update job statuses, add short notes, and attach photos of flawed molded parts without lots of training. When someone spots surface defects on a plastic batch, they snap a photo and drop it straight onto the task card. I get the alert right away, so I can loop in our quality team fast and catch issues early before we waste a full run of expensive resin. The shift handoff notes feature is one of my favorite parts. Our factory runs day and night shifts, and before this tool, important details about paused jobs or mold maintenance often got lost when crews changed over. Now we leave handoff notes directly on active tasks at the end of each shift. The next crew logs in and instantly sees what’s paused, what needs attention, and what work they need to pick up as soon as they start. No more relying on scribbled paper notes or verbal check-ins that get forgotten. I also appreciate the dashboard view. I can quickly pull up all active and paused jobs plus upcoming work without digging through layers of settings. At the end of each week, I use its summary view to prepare my production report for our plant manager in under an hour. Before AlignTru, I had to pull data from separate spreadsheets and chase team members for updates, which took hours every Friday. Setting up reusable task templates and user permissions was really intuitive too. We created templates for our most common molding jobs, and our whole team learned the basics within a couple days, no long training sessions required. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about AlignTru?

I find AlignTru’s built-in reports pretty basic, and that creates extra manual work for me each week. I’m Yochiku Masa from Nova Plastic Manufacturing Group. When our plant manager asks for production metrics, I need to filter data by mold ID and resin type to track scrap rates and machine downtime. AlignTru’s native reporting doesn’t support those custom filters. That means I need to export raw CSV data every week and clean everything up manually inside Excel, which adds at least an hour of work every Friday. The mobile experience also has some annoying flaws. Our operators use their work phones out on the shop floor to update tasks and upload defect photos. Our factory Wi-Fi can get spotty when multiple machines are running at full capacity. The mobile page sometimes loads slowly, and photo attachments can fail mid-upload. Operators often have to wait until they walk closer to the office area with a stronger signal and retry uploading images. I also get flooded with notifications for every tiny task-card change. There isn’t a way to filter alerts so I only get notified for critical issues like mold damage or raw material shortages. Instead, I receive alerts for every minor edit, so I have to manually open task cards to separate urgent problems from routine status updates. Setup was mostly smooth, but migrating our active jobs over from Google Sheets was tedious. There wasn’t a clean bulk import option for our custom mold and resin fields, so I had to create each task card one by one. We also use Less Annoying CRM to store customer order details, and there isn’t a deep automated sync between the two tools. Whenever we start a new order, I still need to manually copy over key order references from the CRM into AlignTru. It’s doable, but these small limitations add extra admin work day to day.
