What do you like best about Akamai Global Traffic Management?

Good amount of rulesets available to choose from for CDN configuration. WAF configuration is well integrated and highly customizable. We use it regularly for the brand website of our organization and we have never faced any down time from Akamai. The customer support is quite quick to jump in and resolve any issue including the critical ones. Good documentation makes it easy to integrate with backend application and enables quicker implementation timeline. The application is overall easy to use for a new-comer as well. What do you dislike about Akamai Global Traffic Management?

One of the factors to improve would be to allow logging of each request rather than only those which flagged the WAF. This will enable the monitoring team to analyze the traffic better and implement the policies much more efficiently. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What problems is Akamai Global Traffic Management solving and how is that benefiting you?

Currently we use it as a layer over a web application to reduce primary server load and provide quicker responses to the end user. Being an ecommerce enabled organization, user experience plays a very important role for our website. For this, the response time reduction is of prime importance and CDN plays a major role here. WAF rule configuration helps in avoiding unwanted traffic and securing the application.
