## Akamai Cloud Computing Reviews
  ### 1. Akamai Cloud Computing: Powerful IaaS and best Defense against Ddos

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** stefano d. | AWS Cloud Solution Architect | Senior Data Architect | System Engineer | PAM Security Specialist, Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** April 07, 2026

**What do you like best about Akamai Cloud Computing?**

Akamai Cloud Computing is the best tool and service for IAAS, at the moment, in the market. Even though its UX/UI configuration interface is not very user-friendly, it remains a powerful tool for defending against DDoS attacks. Last but not least, AKAMAI has worked hard to enable AI Agentic in its tools to detect bad behaviour and perform profiling analysis, providing the best support to its protected customers.

**What do you dislike about Akamai Cloud Computing?**

As a third-party service that sits between the services exposed on the Internet, it functions like a WAF. It is not possible to use it personally; only through Akamai Professional Services, which owns the structure and the global network via an infinite series of edge points. Therefore, it's strictly vendor-locked. The tech support is very expensive, but It remains one of the best team to solve all problems in wich incurred its customer.

**What problems is Akamai Cloud Computing solving and how is that benefiting you?**

AKAMAI solves business continuity issues by preventing data exfiltration from corporate databases and the corruption of sensitive data, and by creating a firewall against the infiltration of corporate systems. The cost of service improves ROI by avoiding large, poorly managed investments. Performance increases exponentially, allowing the company to serve a virtually infinite number of users. The integration of CDN AKAMAI services is very simple because all you need to do is adapt the Corporate DNS and certificates using the URL supplied by AKAMAI.

  ### 2. A Simple, Cost-Effective Cloud Platform with Strong Deployment and Billing Control

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** sam . | IT, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** December 16, 2025

**What do you like best about Akamai Cloud Computing?**

What I like most about Akamai Cloud Computing is its ease of use combined with transparent, competitive pricing. The marketplace and StackScripts are especially valuable, as they make it simple to deploy a wide range of ready-to-use machines and applications with minimal setup time. This significantly speeds up deployments, reduces operational overhead, and allows me to focus more on building and scaling solutions rather than managing infrastructure.

**What do you dislike about Akamai Cloud Computing?**

What I dislike about Akamai Cloud Computing is the limited support for uploading and managing pre-existing custom images. The available GPU options are also somewhat restricted, with newer graphics cards (such as the RTX 5090) not currently available. Additionally, the number of regions is limited, and expanding regional coverage would improve latency options and overall flexibility for global deployments.

**What problems is Akamai Cloud Computing solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Akamai Cloud Computing helps me quickly build a professional, production-ready working environment without heavy upfront investment. The initial $100 credit allows me to experiment, test architectures, and validate ideas at low risk. Real-time billing and usage visibility are especially valuable, as they give me precise control over spending, something I have not experienced at the same level on other platforms. This combination makes it easier to innovate, manage costs effectively, and move from experimentation to deployment with confidence.

  ### 3. Effortless Managed Services and Outstanding Support

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Lee S. | IT Manager, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** December 15, 2025

**What do you like best about Akamai Cloud Computing?**

We appreciate being able to use managed services, particularly for MySQL databases, and found the setup process much simpler than configuring a cluster manually. We rely on this as part of our main website stack, and integrating it with our existing systems, which we use daily, was straightforward. Whenever we've needed support for our servers or databases, the team has always been available to assist us promptly.

**What do you dislike about Akamai Cloud Computing?**

Up to now, our only complaint has been the need to request limits for IP addresses whenever we want to add them, which can sometimes be a time-consuming process. However, we do recognize that this feature exists to prevent abuse, so we understand the reasoning behind it.

**What problems is Akamai Cloud Computing solving and how is that benefiting you?**

They have made it easy for us to host our public-facing infrastructure, providing timely updates, quick responses, and effective monitoring. We have relied on their services for several years and have tried other providers in the past, but those alternatives did not meet our needs. Akamai has been the best provider we have worked with so far, helping us save money on the servers and infrastructure we host through them.

  ### 4. Longtime User, Always Satisfied with Akamai CC's Support and Offerings

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Macario O. | Senior Web Developer, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** December 08, 2025

**What do you like best about Akamai Cloud Computing?**

I've been an Akamai CC user since it was still Linode, at the time I used it to deploy Rails applications using capistrano to VPSs, I was a beginner back then and I got a lot of support from Linode representatives whom helped me set up different services, including an email server. I've always been very satisfied with the service, and I've always keept a few VPSs for my personal use or for client work. Since a couple of years I started using Nix for managing my dev environments, after shopping for server providers with support for NixOS, I was very happy to discover a guide for installing NixOS on ACC, the guide was very well written and I was able to follow without a hitch, consequently I have no reason to switch providers.

**What do you dislike about Akamai Cloud Computing?**

The "clean" redesign on all white and content restructuring (guides, resources, pricing) has made me feel a tad disoriented, but I have been able to find my way. I find the dashboard very clear though.

**What problems is Akamai Cloud Computing solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Deploying personal and client web applications to VPSs, ocasional object store.

  ### 5. Easy Cloud Management + Great Support = Success

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Nathane J. | Managing Partner, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** December 08, 2025

**What do you like best about Akamai Cloud Computing?**

It makes the management of cloud infrastructure very easy. For developers looking to manage some cloud features without having to master them, this is the platform for you. Their portal makes it extremely easy to standup infrastructure in just a few short minutes. Akamai makes it very easy and their support is top shelf.

**What do you dislike about Akamai Cloud Computing?**

My only negative about Akamai, is I would love to see more cloud features exposed through their platform.

**What problems is Akamai Cloud Computing solving and how is that benefiting you?**

As a small business owner with limited resources, I have been able to stand up enterprise level infrastructure with minimal effort. The online documentation and easy-to-use interface has made it very easy to get up and running to expose our SAAS application. They are pro-active in notifying us when upgrades to system versions are about to be end-of-life, allowing us to patch them before they become issues. It's almost like having a dedicated development operations team at my disposal.

  ### 6. Effortless Server Setup and Outstanding Support

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Preston A. | Founder, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** December 08, 2025

**What do you like best about Akamai Cloud Computing?**

How quick and easy it was to get a new server spun up. I also did like that their customer service was quick to enable sending emails even though I submitted the support ticket on a Sunday night. Monday morning, when I got up I saw that they had enabled it already.

**What do you dislike about Akamai Cloud Computing?**

I didn't really like that it by default blocks email sending as I had to have transactional emails with my app so I wasn't able to finish setting up that part during the time I had set aside to get my new instance up and running. It caused it to be split over 2 days rather than just doing it in one shot.

**What problems is Akamai Cloud Computing solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We have a web app that we are building and needed to have a VPS to run a prod and dev version of pocketbase.

  ### 7. Reliable Performance with a Global Reach

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Sifat M.

**Reviewed Date:** December 08, 2025

**What do you like best about Akamai Cloud Computing?**

I really like Akamai Cloud Computing's reliability and global network performance. The platform consistently delivers fast response times and stable uptime, which is crucial for running applications without interruptions. The global infrastructure ensures low latency for users across different regions. I appreciate the user-friendly dashboard and clear documentation, making server management and application deployment straightforward. The flexibility to scale resources as needed is a significant advantage, allowing me to adjust infrastructure based on project demands. The simplicity of deploying and managing virtual servers, along with the intuitive control panel and well-organized documentation, speeds up setup and ongoing management. The platform’s stability and reliability are also impressive, delivering smooth service with minimal downtime. Together, these features make Akamai Cloud Computing a strong and dependable cloud solution for my development and production workloads. The integration with other tools makes it fit well into my existing workflows, and I value its flexibility.

**What do you dislike about Akamai Cloud Computing?**

While my overall experience with Akamai Cloud Computing has been positive, there are a few areas that could be improved. Some advanced features and configurations can feel complex for new users, and the learning curve may be slightly steep at first. More beginner-friendly tutorials or step-by-step guides would be helpful. Additionally, certain settings and options are spread across different sections of the dashboard, which can sometimes take extra time to navigate. Improving dashboard organization or adding more in-context tips could make the experience even smoother. Pricing and usage details could also be explained more clearly in the interface, especially for users who are still learning how resource billing works. With these improvements, Akamai Cloud Computing would be even more accessible and user-friendly.

**What problems is Akamai Cloud Computing solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Akamai Cloud Computing solves challenges with performance, reliability, and scalability by reducing latency, ensuring uptime, and simplifying infrastructure management. It offers consistent global performance and a secure environment, making server management efficient and saving time.

  ### 8. Versatility and Low Latency with Akamai

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Gerson C. | engineer, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** December 09, 2025

**What do you like best about Akamai Cloud Computing?**

I really like the versatility of Akamai Cloud Computing. It has a wide variety of products that are quite useful for people who make use of the Cloud Community. I really enjoy using the tools it provides, especially the Linux ones, as they are very useful for my work. Additionally, I can create several virtual servers in a single account, which provides me with a lot of ease for my work when multiple servers are required. These virtual servers are of good quality. I also appreciate that the initial setup is quite simple, taking only about 3 minutes if you already have experience with cloud configurations. It is quite intuitive and works well.

**What do you dislike about Akamai Cloud Computing?**

I have needed a virtual server with the Windows operating system, but Akamai Cloud Computing does not provide that type of service. They provide Linux, Ubuntu, or other operating systems, but on some occasions, I have required Windows. A very good improvement would be to implement Windows for people who need it.

**What problems is Akamai Cloud Computing solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Solve latency issues I had with other providers like Amazon or Kamatera. Akamai Cloud Computing allows me to reduce server latency, which is crucial for my work.

  ### 9. A Powerful Cloud Platform for Low-Latency Applications

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Aquiles F. | My current job title is Virtual Administrative Assistant, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** December 09, 2025

**What do you like best about Akamai Cloud Computing?**

What I appreciate most about Akamai Cloud Computing is the combination of performance, security, and global reach. It allows teams to deploy applications efficiently while maintaining stability and low latency for users around the world.

**What do you dislike about Akamai Cloud Computing?**

One thing I dislike about Akamai Cloud Computing is that its platform can feel a bit complex at first. The wide range of services and configurations sometimes requires a steeper learning curve compared to other providers.

**What problems is Akamai Cloud Computing solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Akamai solves problems around delivering high-performance, low-latency applications globally. Its edge-focused architecture helps maintain uptime and handle high traffic efficiently. For me, this translates into better application performance, fewer operational headaches, and a more reliable experience for both users and developers.

  ### 10. Intuitive and Efficient Hosting with Akamai Cloud Computing

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Jacob H.

**Reviewed Date:** December 08, 2025

**What do you like best about Akamai Cloud Computing?**

I use Akamai Cloud Computing to host my websites using their Linode virtual machines. It solves a lot of complex issues I have run into with managing my own hardware. The interface is very useful, quick, and easy to navigate, which is not something you typically get out of the box with your own machines. I enjoy how easy it is to use, and the platform solves a lot of pain points with its UI, bringing me a great experience overall. Their firewall configuration is very nice, especially when combined with Cloudflare to gate access. It's a very useful tool that lets me restrict access to my open ports directly, requiring that public access goes through Cloudflare first, which allows me to set up bot protection. I found the setup to be extremely straightforward, and I've been able to manage my Linodes without any hassle.

**What do you dislike about Akamai Cloud Computing?**

It would be nice to have some cheaper options for hobby projects such as my own. Generally, the price is okay, however, it would be nice to be able to create Linodes with more fine-grained specs, such as being able to specify the storage, RAM, etc., and generate a price based on that.

**What problems is Akamai Cloud Computing solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I use Akamai Cloud Computing to manage complex hardware issues. Its user-friendly interface makes navigation quick and easy. The firewall allows port access restriction through Cloudflare, adding bot protection. It enhances my web hosting with Linode's robust features.
