"Effortless Custom Field Creation, But Data Load Limitations"

What do you like best about Advanced Custom Fields?

I really appreciate Advanced Custom Fields for its top-notch GUI interface. The structure it operates with is excellent, allowing me to create groups and then add custom fields within them. I can easily add various types of fields like text boxes, drop-downs, text areas, and date pickers. This feature-rich interface simplifies the process of customizing fields for different post types, making it a powerful tool for WordPress. Additionally, the initial setup is very easy, probably so much that even a fifth grader could get it done. Although I might be overestimating a bit, it's generally easy to get around Advanced Custom Fields, which I find appealing. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Advanced Custom Fields?

There are certain limitations for Advanced Custom Fields. The amount of data it can load can be a limiting factor. Additionally, for every field, there are two meta keys generated in the background, which could add up for a large project. This can cause the database to feel bloated when working with large projects. It is a design choice of both WordPress and ACF but ultimately, for large projects, it could add up. Advanced Custom Fields simplifies adding custom fields with a great GUI, replacing tedious manual coding in WordPress. It enables easy generation of various custom fields for different post types, extending functionality without needing to code for displaying, storing, or sanitizing data.
