I love that I can do everything I can possible imagine in a document. I've never come across a situation where I wanted to manipulate a document and couldn't do it in Adobe. Some of the ways that I use this software include:
- text recognition to quickly copy and past a paragraph from an existing (normally old) document into a new document
- combining multiple different PDFs into a single document. This saves down significantly on paper use. Once upon a time we use to compile 100 page document by printing each individual component and then scanning it back into our computer system. This wasted paper and each time you do this there is a slight degradation in quality because of the scanning. Adobe helps us cut down on paper use and keep image quality sharp.
- Making minor changes to an existing document without having to go back into word. For example, if you as missing a page number at the top of an already completed and compiled document then it is often easier to just use Adobe Acrobat to directly add this in, rather than fixing it in Word and then re-compiling documents.
- Extracting pictures from a PDF. My former daycare used to send weekly newsletters with pictures in it and I would save the pictures that features my child. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
The cost is rel atively high. While the software is useful, it can be a challenge to get internal buy-in for the expense. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
