"Action1 Makes Third-Party Patching and Remote Support Effortless for MSPs"

5/5

What do you like best about Action1?

As an MSP managing endpoints across multiple client tenants, third-party patching is the standout feature for us. Rather than chasing updates for common but often-neglected apps (Chrome, Adobe Reader, Zoom, etc.) on a client-by-client basis, Action1’s Software Repository lets us handle detection and deployment centrally, and it saves us hours of manual work every month. The added vulnerability visibility also means we can prioritise patches based on actual risk instead of just age, which makes for a much easier, more practical conversation with clients during security reviews.

On the day-to-day support side, remote access is just as valuable. Being able to jump onto an end user’s machine, run a script, or push a missing update without a VPN or any on-prem infrastructure fits perfectly with how we operate. Most of our clients are fully remote or hybrid, and the lightweight cloud agent means deploying to a new tenant takes minutes rather than turning into a project.

It’s also genuinely free for the first 200 endpoints with no functional limits, which made it an easy sell when onboarding smaller clients that don’t want to commit to a large RMM contract straight away. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Action1?

Single sign-on could be easier to set up. It took a bit more configuration than I expected before I could get it working smoothly. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What problems is Action1 solving and how is that benefiting you?

It has replaced a mix of manual patching and legacy tools like WSUS across our client base, giving us a single console for managing OS and third-party updates, remote troubleshooting, and basic RMM tasks. It also fills a genuine gap left by Intune, which doesn’t handle third-party application patching natively. Action1 covers that area cleanly without requiring a separate tool or workaround. Overall, that consolidation has reduced the time we spend chasing routine patches and freed us up to focus more on higher-value security work for clients. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
