We've had a great experience using SpotOn across our multiple locations. The cloud-based platform, online ordering, and integration features make operations smooth and efficient. The reporting tools provide valuable insights, and the support has been outstanding. Special thanks to Ivan Monroy, our Customer Success Manager, whose expertise, responsiveness, and dedication have made a significant impact. Highly recommend SpotOn—especially with Ivan on your team!

**What do you dislike about SpotOn?**

Spoton could prioritize on product road map and information/communication with us for new things coming out. They are a highly technological company, and they often have upgrades that we don't get to see since we are not completely informed.

**What problems is SpotOn solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I wanted to take a moment to personally recognize Ivan Monroy for the outstanding professionalism and care he brings to his work.

From our very first interaction, he has stood out as not only extremely efficient and knowledgeable about your POS systems, but also remarkably personable and attentive.

Ivan doesn’t just provide solutions—he builds confidence. His ability to respond quickly, troubleshoot effectively, and follow up with genuine attention to detail has made every experience seamless. In a field where technical proficiency is essential, what truly differentiates him is his professionalism, warmth, and proactive approach.

We started with simple features from Spoton, however, we are working to use solutions such as teamwork's, multi-location, delivery integrations and marketing, control cost & finacial desicion making

**What do you like best about SpotOn?**

I find the flow from back of the house to front of the house with SpotOn's system very easy and intuitive, almost common sense to a certain extent. If you've used other POS platforms before, you'll understand it very quickly, which makes it easy to teach other managers how to create buttons, add discounts, and manage day-to-day operations.

**What do you dislike about SpotOn?**

I think there's a strong opportunity for Spoton to expand its capabilities by developing a more sophisticated, built-in inventory management. Current inventory platforms onboarding is extremely labor intensive requiring hours of item mapping to align data across platforms. The entire process could be streamlined, if not eliminated, by leveraging the fact all this data already exists within SpotOn's BOH environment.

**What problems is SpotOn solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I use SpotOn as a one-stop shop for POS systems, offering tools like loyalty programs and online ordering with low credit card fees. It integrates with gift cards, third-party tools, and allows easy catering payment processing via our site.

**What do you like best about SpotOn?**

SpotOn is a very user-friendly system for both front and back of house. The reporting is comprehensive, and the support has been incredible—special shout-out to Evan Gray, our Client Success Partner, who is outstanding and a very strong reason we stay with SpotOn. The integration options make a huge difference, and the competitive SaaS and rates also help in a tough market. On top of that, the system has been very reliable, with only minimal issues.

**What do you dislike about SpotOn?**

We occasionally run into frustrating issues with the payment terminal connecting on some of our handheld devices. Another major problem for us is that we can’t transfer an OLO from one location to another when a customer accidentally places the order at the wrong location, which creates a lot of inconvenience. That’s a big issue for us.

**What problems is SpotOn solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Provides an easy to learn and use platform for staff, reporting options help track sales and efficiencies quickly there's more but time is short.

**What do you like best about SpotOn?**

I really like how SpotOn is easy to use. The point of sale system is intuitive and highly customizable, which has been great for us. SpotOn allows us to set up kitchen items, buttons, add-ons, and notes sections, making it much easier to handle our complex orders and specific customer requests. This has enabled our kitchen teams to clearly understand what customers want, resulting in high-quality products. Having the rewards platform integrated with the built-in GoTo app is another thing I appreciate, as it ensures customers placing orders online can still benefit from rewards points. Plus, the ability to manage spending inventory through integrations really helps in streamlining our operations.

**What do you dislike about SpotOn?**

There are a few redundant things within the system. Such as always having to hit apply payment before a customer can tap or swipe their card. It would be a lot easier if they were able to do that right away. Also, when you type in a guest's name, it doesn't tie it to the loyalty program and vice versa. When a customer already has an account with their loyalty program, and then you send the order to the kitchen, it doesn't auto populate the ticket to the kitchen with the name attached to the loyalty account. There are also two different locations for customer info and loyalty. There is no reason why those shouldn't be integrated into one seamless database. And it should automatically be able to pull up order history, all loyalty points issued, rewards, etcetera, in one simple location as opposed to two completely different databases that have to be separately attached to the order.

**What problems is SpotOn solving and how is that benefiting you?**

SpotOn helps us streamline operations, manage online orders, and integrate a rewards platform. The system's customizability allows kitchen teams to manage complex orders efficiently. It also helps control inventory through integrations and send invoices for events.

**What do you like best about SpotOn?**

I use SpotOn for the in-store point of sale, and it's a good POS. The card processing works reliably, and the hardware is solid. I find the loyalty setup pretty cool, and the reporting dashboard does exactly what a single location restaurant needs.

**What do you dislike about SpotOn?**

The API access process is completely broken. It has been twenty-six days since the first request and I still don't have credentials. There's just a Google Form intake that starts another approval pipeline. There's no self-serve developer portal, no sandbox, no timeline. Support emails sometimes bounce back. If your business needs any sort of customer integration, you're at the mercy of internal handoffs, which is ridiculous. SpotOn is a closed loop system, making it really hard to integrate deeply for a single user experience without porting out to something else.

SpotOn is a reliable in-store POS with solid hardware, smooth card processing, a cool loyalty setup, and a useful reporting dashboard for single-location restaurants.

**What do you like best about SpotOn?**

The Onboarding and Training is proactive and always present. I've worked with a lot of different points of sale systems, and the only one that ever followed through with ensuring I knew what I was doing was SpotOn.

**What do you dislike about SpotOn?**

Our clientele is rapidly evolving as younger generations start to mix in and the trends of "yesteryear" slowly creep back in, making trend prediction challenging. A perfect Guest Rewards program that keeps up with the different pieces of our collective customer pie is hard to imagine. I know SpotOn is on the case!

**What problems is SpotOn solving and how is that benefiting you?**

SpotOn has helped our company navigate the challenges that come with managing a large inventory and ensuring that the paperwork done on the back end seamlessly integrates and that the information is accurate to the "T".

**What do you like best about SpotOn?**

There is so much relevant information available through Spot on Reports  and resources that helps with our profitability and even cashflow.  We are also able to integrate with our payroll and scheduling platforms as well as  tip payouts to our employees.

**What do you dislike about SpotOn?**

My only suggestion for improvement would be to provide a more basic user manual that new users can print out, rather than having it available online only.

Spot On is helping with all areas of the Restaurant:  POS, Reporting, Scheduling, Payroll and helping with costs.

BEst part is that it is easy to use and POS layout makes daily transaction very simple for the staff and system runs very smoothly keeps all of it very organized from order to the payment and reporting tools are good and clear and helps to track the sales without going through any complicated menus

**What do you dislike about SpotOn?**

some of the feature are very restricted without upgrade and kind of expensive and slow customer support during busy hours , small issue is that updates sometime changes the interface so people need time to adjust

It helps speed up the checkout and help reduce the erros during peak hours , keep the sale and customer interaction in one and is very much time saving and it improves the entire workflow

**What do you like best about SpotOn?**

I find SpotOn to be very user-friendly, which allows us to be more hands-off with the system and focus more on the business operations. I really appreciate having Kaitlin Zimmerman as a dedicated asset to our account, as she helps expedite solutions to the issues we might have. Her support has been a game changer for us. I'm also glad that we chose SpotOn because, despite an early misunderstanding about credit card fees, the setup was easy, and overall, SpotOn has been a great fit for our needs.

**What do you dislike about SpotOn?**

Nothing major, but we've given Kaitlin some suggestions for product utilization that we would like to see in the future to help streamline the experience. Also, the sales individual initially told us all credit card fees were 1.9%, which wasn’t correct, and he should not have told us that.

**What problems is SpotOn solving and how is that benefiting you?**

SpotOn provides tech support, equipment replacement, and process development. It's user-friendly, and having Kaitlin Zimmerman dedicated to our account is a game changer, enabling us to focus more on the business operation.

I'm just getting started but it's the people! Our rep Amanda was so hospitable, not intrusive or "salesy", as is common with other POS sales reps. She was knowledgeable, friendly, and geared the conversation to what I needed vs what she was selling!

Still onboarding so nothing at all right now!

**What problems is SpotOn solving and how is that benefiting you?**

From our conversations, what I expect to be the best solve for us is the support line. We don't need support often, but when we do we need answers quick and it appears SpotOn will be able to do that!

I really like SpotOn as a central hub for all our needs, including payments, orders, online ordering, reservations, marketing, and loyalty programs. The full reporting for all operational needs in one place is very useful, and the customer service is great for solving any problems or questions. I appreciate the continuous innovation of technology that SpotOn provides, making operations more efficient. The initial setup experience was incredible, with outstanding onsite personal training, and the installation was the easiest.

**What do you like best about SpotOn?**

I like the ability to integrate other software platforms. SpotOn allows for online ordering, labor scheduling, and handling reservations, which all work together seamlessly.

**What do you dislike about SpotOn?**

SpotOn reporting is problematic on food server analytics. I've complained for 4 years with no action to make reporting more actionable for coaching employees. The setup was brutal. Our team thought they were capable of doing it all themselves, but in fact they weren't. It took 6 months to straighten out the POS menu items.

**What problems is SpotOn solving and how is that benefiting you?**

SpotOn's cloud-based real-time data solved not seeing live data like sales/labor. I like the integration with other software platforms, online ordering, labor scheduling, and reservations—it all works together.

**What do you like best about SpotOn?**

Spot On is amazing for its simplicity and transparency. The automated reminders, scheduling, and easy-to-use dashboard all coordinate really well, which makes day-to-day management much easier. The trainers at Spot On are also friendly, patient, and communicate very clearly. I also like the reports, especially that we can customize them, because they provide deeper insight and help drive better decisions that can benefit the business.

**What do you dislike about SpotOn?**

Feature requests or enhancement feedback sometimes take longer than expected to be addressed. The mobile app could also be much smoother, and the learning curve can feel overwhelming for new users at the beginning.

**What problems is SpotOn solving and how is that benefiting you?**

The online ordering benefits a lot to my cafe as users can order online and I don't have to go to any other system, their POS systems works great while making transactions and executing them smoothly, payroll prep makes it very easy to run payrolls on schedules.

The software is really strong in the way of modifications. And in our restaurants every item is made to order so customization is key.

**What do you dislike about SpotOn?**

There are some quirks related to reopening checks. But we are so new so I am hoping we will find a solution

**What problems is SpotOn solving and how is that benefiting you?**

They have been there every step of the way in these first few months for us. Most recent issue they fixed for us related to print routings. We have a complicated bar setup and they have streamlined the process for us to toggle back and forth between two options

**What do you like best about SpotOn?**

I think what could be improved is part of the back of the house, especially tracking certain things when people change prices or void things. I want to be able to track pricing events better, like seeing how much they charge per item if they change the price. If they change the price from $4.99 to $2.99, I want to see that. Or if there's a changing event that changes a price by a dollar down, it'd be useful to see all that.

the timekeeping element with Teamwork is the biggest advantage to other systems.  the interface and access are ok- but not as good as other POS Systems

It's lack of integration.  Opentable is a major one, but there are other systems that people have developed to make operators lives better.  It's a young industry to have specialized reporting programs and it's lack of direct integration with delivery apps put it at a disadvantage.  Spoton doesn't carry enough market share or exposure to eliminate them so we are left purchasing and piecing it together vs. other POS Systems that play well with so many other programs and platforms.

the CA break violation componant for teamwork solves a lot in terms of liability.  The reporting does well enough that i can follow along with how my business is doing weekly.

Handhelds are awful. The switch to RPOS was challenging as it happened during our busy season and it seemed like a forced change. Calling for low level tech support should not take 3 minutes before you get to speak to a human. We don’t have 3 minutes when a device is down.

If you fix the handhelds, it would benefit us greatly. Replacing them under warranty is okay but we simply need them to work

What I like best about SpotOn is how easy and seamless everything is to use. From the moment we started at The Nile Bar & Restaurant, the implementation was smooth, and Lucky made sure our entire team understood the system. He even came out in person to train our staff and then held a separate training session for our managers, which helped us get comfortable using all the features right away.
The platform itself is user-friendly and integrates well with our daily operations. We use it every single day for everything from processing payments to tracking sales and managing reports. The number of features it offers has made running the bar much more efficient without being complicated to manage.
Most importantly, the customer support has been outstanding. Any time we’ve had a question or needed guidance, Lucky and the SpotOn team have been quick, responsive, and patient — something that’s rare to find. It’s a system we depend on constantly, and it’s made our operations faster, smoother, and more organized.

I like that it’s pretty user friendly. The way it’s set up was done well by the spot on team, and menu items and functions are fairly easy to find. I also think it crashes less than others as I haven’t experienced it go down and even though I also like toast, I think toast loses its connection a lot which is not convenient during service. That hasn’t happened with spot on and I like that it seems more reliable.

My only real complaint about the system is the payment, I dislike that it’s 2 steps but otherwise it’s quick and simple to learn. 
Sometimes the cash drawer won’t open even if I hit no sale. I’m not sure if this is on purpose but it’s also inconvenient as we don’t keep a key in the drawer at my bar.

We moved to Spoton to shorten our tech stack and it has done just that. Everything runs smooth and is tied well together between our website and online ordering, the value is there. We are saving $700 a month alone by switching and moving multiple tech stacks into one spot, pun intended.

The system is much faster than our old system was and has been chugging along without issue since we launched.

As a Pizzeria it was a bit cumbersome to get set up, but our rep, menu consultant, and tech support were all very patient and got us to where we needed to be ultimately. Then again most POS are hard for pizzerias unless it was specifically built for one, but we have been giving feedback for other owners going forward to help out.

SpotOn made the switch from Toast very easy and guided us along the way.  The cellular addition to our handhelds has saved us several times.  When we lose our internet in the restaurant, the servers and kitchen do not even know.  The system continues to work as if there were no issues.

**What do you like best about SpotOn?**

From the front of house to the back end of operations, SpotOn is seamless, efficient and amazing. Starting with the back of the house, everything is rather simple and self-explanatory which makes it super-efficient and user friendly. I love the live updates and the quickness of changes. The real time updates and how easy they make it allow you to have smooth operations even on a busy Friday night. All the reporting is amazing and provides so much knowledge whether it is from a large overview or getting into the fine details, it’s all right there. In addition, the capabilities of having the SpotOn apps so I can see information and sales in real time is a nice touch. Adding new items or employees has never been so easy.

The installation team was excellent! They stayed for two entire days and worked with my staff and trained all of us and fixed issues on the fly. Great way to set the tone early of how SpotOn is here to help!

In the front of the house the POS system has a very clean look, good style and overall nice presentation. It looks the part and functions even better than it looks. The design of the screen is perfect. It is very easy to read, touch and use! The button layout is great and makes my service staff very happy knowing we can basically change anything we want to make the computers easier to use and more efficient for ringing in orders, etc. In terms of processing and speeds, the computers are very quick and save lots of time for my staff.

The KDS system. We were all nervous to try this out but after one week of getting used to it... I would never change back. Such a flawless system and has made our cook times go down in turn, increasing guest satisfaction!

Lastly, SpotOn support. This was a huge factor in making the switch because you call in, you speak to a human in minutes or sometimes less than a minute and 9/10 times your problem is solved very quickly so you can get back to running your restaurant. SpotOn support is always avilable and when they say they will call you back, they actually do. Time to time, they even call a few days after to ensure the problem is still fixed.

One more thing, we love their online ordering and E-Gift card feature. Its amazing!

**What do you dislike about SpotOn?**

Not a whole lot! We have had a few issues with install, reporting, KDS stuff but they always get fixed.

Sometimes I have been on hold for longer than I like but that is rarer.

If a server does not enter a receipt and we find that out the next day, it takes a while for the money to get into my account. On the flip side when I need to issue a refund a day or so later, it takes longer than expected for the customer to get their money back!

**What problems is SpotOn solving and how is that benefiting you?**

#1 - Waste. By installing the KDS system, we are going through less paper which is saving money.
#2 - Online ordering. We have never had it before and the SpotOn online ordering system is great. Customers give feed back all the time how easy it is. This has reduced are phone calls by a lot and is helping with keeping servers and managers on the floor and not stuck on the phone.
#3 - Handhelds. Keeping servers efficient at the tables and making everyone more money
#4 - Faster processing. Time is money and being able to cash people out quicker is very helpful.
#5 - Scheduling an order. Love this feature. Before we had to just remember or literally set a timer on my phone causing to many issues and mistakes. This has saved so many headaches!
# 6 - Consolidation. I used to use multiple platforms for data, scheduling, employee information, website, online ordering, etc. With SpotOn I have been able to consolidate all of this under one company aka SpotOn and it has been seamless ever since and saving us money each month.

**What do you like best about SpotOn?**

In Sept 2024, we made the change to SpotOn from Revel and what an upgrade it was. From never meeting a single person at Revel to several people with SpotOn making the trip to the cafe. DJ Rentz really made an impression on the owners of the cafe. Once we were rolling, the virtual and phone support teams were very quick to answer calls for any issues we were having or questions we had about learning our system better. Back of House site is easy to use. As we go, we're excited to begin using TeamWork. Reporting has been an extremely useful tool to track labor, and product sales. DoorDash integration has also proven to be extremely helpful. Finally, Lucky Nguyen has been very helpful to put in me in touch with the right people as we expand our SpotOn services. Really awesome to have a human, face-to-face point of contact. Makes SpotOn feel very local and supportive.

**What do you dislike about SpotOn?**

I've had some suggestions that the customer-facing screen have larger buttons and larger font when customers enter their phone number for rewards. Also, since we are high-volume and fast paced... every so often if a cashier makes a mistake when ringing someone up, other systems we've used do not require a complete refund and re-ringing when correcting mistakes.

SpotOn is saving me a ton of time and money as manager with DoorDash integration, Teamworks, and reporting.

I really enjoy the efficiency, oraganization,user friendly interface and ticket speeds. Really good responsive touch screen buttons. What i really enjoy the most is that this system has the ability to use and has handheld devices to process orders away from the main POS, like ringing up orders, cashing out with chip or tap to pay cards, nfc payment apps/phones and more. Im not sure if its possible, im sure it probaly is, needs solid color buttons for the main options/categories buttons to distinguish it faster with sight and not having the main buttons blend in to the secondary options on the screen.

**What do you like best about SpotOn?**

One of the things I appreciate most about SpotOn is how easy the POS system is to use. Having worked as a server myself, I know how important it is to have a system that's intuitive and efficient during busy shifts—and SpotOn delivers just that. The back-of-house features are also user-friendly, making it easy to manage operations smoothly.

Whenever I've run into an issue, their technical support team has always been responsive and helpful. I’ve worked closely with Ivan Monroy for the past two years, and he consistently goes above and beyond. He’s professional, attentive, and always has a great attitude, which makes a big difference.

Additionally, the marketing tools and loyalty rewards program have been fantastic for my clients. These features have helped increase customer retention and grow the base of loyal guests at the restaurants I work with. SpotOn has truly been a great partner in our growth.

**What do you dislike about SpotOn?**

While I’ve had a great overall experience with SpotOn, one thing I think could really improve the platform is the addition of a dedicated mobile app for customers to track their loyalty points—similar to what big brands like McDonald’s offer. It would make it much easier and more convenient for guests to check their rewards, stay engaged, and feel more connected to the loyalty program. Providing customers with their own app to view and manage their points would definitely take the program to the next level.

SpotOn helps me reach customers in a more personalized and meaningful way. With their marketing tools, I can easily schedule campaigns for special promotions, holidays, or events ahead of time, which saves a lot of planning and keeps everything organized. I also love the ability to customize rewards—for example, offering double points on specific days—which keeps our regulars engaged and encourages repeat visits. Overall, it’s made client communication more strategic and effective.

SpotOn has helped us out immensely in our operations and was a big step in the right direction when we swapped from our previous provider. SpotOn made install and implantation easy, providing menu build out, after hours installation/testing, and follow up support when swapping out our old system. When we ran into any issues, they were quick to make adjustments or fix the issue with a satisfactory resolution.

We are utilizing SpotOn in a quick service setting, since it was originally built for table service restaurants, there are some features that are currently being worked on that would make the product more beneficial to our application.

We love working with our Client Support Partner, Michael Lattek! He’s incredibly friendly, knowledgeable, and always quick to respond whenever we have questions. As a brewery with a busy taproom and rotating menus, it’s been such a relief not having to wait on hold or go through layers of support — Michael is always just an email or call away and truly understands the pace and needs of our business.

SpotOn has also been a great fit for our brewery operations. It’s intuitive, easy for our team to learn, and packed with features that support everything from managing tabs and digital menus to loyalty programs and marketing. The support when needed is second to none. I have been through several other POS systems and SpotOn is by far the best software package out there. The frontline ordering is easy to use as well as Backoffice is easy to modify and set up. Handhelds are the best feature. Handhelds mirror the POS station and allow for easy tableside ordering and also executing the tableside payments.

Don't have too many dislikes. The only negative I have experienced is the integration partners needs to grow faster.

I like the design of the technology hardware and its ease of functionality. The reporting is also very clear and I am able to get all the financials I need to run my business effectively.

I have no downsides that I can readily think of. I however am a relatively new customer so time will tell on how the system performs long term and also if the pricing holds. The last product I used would start increasing pricing on me over time.

For one, the credit card processing and point of sale are all rolled up into one platform which makes it easier for me to manage the credit card receipts. Also, the hardware is much more reliable and I am having to call the support helpline a lot less than I was before with my previous point of sale supplier.

We love the reports and the ability customize it to what our business needs are.  Carlos our rep is always there if we need even when he is out of town.   Always helps with any problems we have.
