VPS Snaps is automated backup software for developers, agencies and MSPs who run their own servers. It connects to your cloud providers and your servers to run backups on a schedule — and your data never passes through us. Provider snapshots are created inside your own account on DigitalOcean, Hetzner, Vultr, Linode, AWS EC2, Google Compute Engine or Microsoft Azure, and stay restorable from that provider's console whether or not you keep using VPS Snaps. Everything else uploads directly to S3-compatible storage you own: Amazon S3, Cloudflare R2, Backblaze B2, DigitalOcean Spaces, Wasabi, UpCloud, or any custom endpoint. We keep the run log and the file path, not your backups. Beyond snapshots, VPS Snaps backs up PostgreSQL, MySQL, MariaDB and MongoDB over SSH, Docker volumes and compose files, and any file path you point it at. It can scan a connected server and detect WordPress, Laravel, Craft CMS and Ghost installs, reading each platform's own config to create matched file and database jobs in one click. Kubernetes namespaces are supported through a service account token, with no in-cluster agent required. For servers with no public SSH or API access, a Docker-based agent holds an outbound connection to VPS Snaps and runs jobs locally — no inbound firewall rules or public IP needed. Database and file backups restore from the dashboard onto any server in your workspace, including one the backup didn't come from. A check-only mode verifies an archive against the checksum recorded at backup time without changing anything. Success and failure notifications go to email, Slack, Microsoft Teams, Google Chat and Discord on every plan, including the free one. The free plan needs no credit card.
