The clustered architecture allows Greenplum to scale from Gigabytes to Petabytes, with no changes required to table structures or SQL queries. For the end user, data stored in S3 can be queried in situ using external tables. Columnar & row storage models and data compression are supported. Data Science can be carried out in-database with Python, R & Apache MADlib. For system administrators, OS level access is supported via SSH to the EC2 instances.
