Trinity POS is school nutrition software for K-12 districts, charter networks, and child-nutrition program operators running the National School Lunch Program (NSLP), School Breakfast Program, Summer Food Service Program (SFSP), CACFP, and Community Eligibility Provision (CEP).
One platform replaces the usual patchwork of separate tools:
Point of sale. A fast cashier app on tablet, phone, or web with one-tap serving lines, offline capability for cafeterias with unreliable Wi-Fi, and eligibility privacy built in — the cashier never sees whether a student is free, reduced, or paid (supports 7 CFR 245.8), and duplicate-serve protection keeps meal counts audit-ready.
Eligibility. Online and paper free & reduced-price meal applications aligned to the USDA prototype, available in English, Spanish, and Vietnamese, with automatic income determinations, batch Direct Certification imports with fuzzy matching, determination letters, verification sampling, and FNS-742 reporting.
Parent portal. Families add lunch money online with deposits that settle directly to their school's own bank account, set automatic top-ups and spending limits, see balances and menus, and apply for meal benefits — all trilingual. Districts choose the convenience fee: flat, percentage, or none (a typical setup is $1.57 on a $25 deposit). Cash and check stay free.
Claims. Reimbursement claim worksheets build themselves from every meal served, with edit checks that catch problems before the state portal does, plus export and a full submission history. Trinity does not file with the state on your behalf — it makes filing take minutes instead of days.
Compliance. Every record is tenant-isolated, sensitive data is encrypted at rest, and an append-only audit log tracks every change for FERPA and administrative reviews.
Pricing is a flat monthly fee per school site — unlimited staff, students, and transactions included, no per-student licensing. Most single sites are live within days, not quarters.
