What was most helpful about Gnucash was that it forced me as a user to use a zero-based accounting method to track income and procurements for the school that I was part of at the time. This was a completely different system than I had used, but it seemed to help me keep things straight when it came to accounting. Additionally, the very simple interface allowed me to navigate to the most necessary parts of the software very easily and very simply. There was not a whole lot of distractions in the interface that got in the way of me being able to perform the work that I needed to perform with the software. For folks who are new into accounting and tracking, it seemed that gnucash was the ideal piece of software that would help me be able to track items in a very particular and specific manner.

I like that GnuCash runs very quickly, with no big pauses like when I used QuickBooks at my old job.
