Steward IT Census is self-hosted IT asset management and network inventory software. It discovers and inventories every computer, server, printer, switch, phone and camera on your network, and runs as one program on your own Windows or Linux server with a built-in database, so asset data never leaves your network and license activation works offline. Agentless scanning (WinRM, SSH, SNMP) covers the office network with nothing installed, and an optional agent covers laptops and remote sites. Every edition includes vulnerabilities (Microsoft, Debian, Ubuntu, Red Hat, NVD, with CISA's actively exploited list first), about 470 compliance checks based on DISA STIGs, Microsoft baselines and NIST mSCP, software deployment and scripts, a help desk with tickets linked to assets, a network map from LLDP/CDP, free Let's Encrypt SSL certificates installed and renewed on your servers, and a REST API, webhooks and syslog. Free up to 50 assets with every feature and no time limit. Beyond that, a perpetual license costs $1 per asset, one time, with optional update renewal.
