nQuery provides a great interface to quickly access the desired methods for sample size calculation and useful tips to provide the desired inputs. It further allows for swift visualization of results to indicate how changing parameters impact sample size and power - a very useful tool to convey results of the sample size calculation. Another useful feature are side-tables that allow the user to easily populate the main table for sample size calculation without having to go to length to obtain the required values. The variety in methods that are available for sample size calculation enable the tool to be used in most trials. While not part of the nQuery sample size software, I would also like to mention the webinars provided by nQuery that not only provide information regarding their software but also well prepared information on various topics; and that for free.

During my day as bio-statistician in the Faculty of Health Sciences of our university I am often involved with protocol development, mainly in clinical research, for Masters & PhD students as well as for established researchers .
