Species360, a non-profit organization, offers the Zoological Information Management System (ZIMS), a pivotal data management platform used by zoos, aquariums, and related institutions worldwide. ZIMS provides comprehensive tools for the management of animal records, including husbandry, medical, and genetic information, fostering global collaboration in wildlife conservation. By standardizing data collection and sharing, it assists in enhancing animal care and species conservation efforts. As of October 2023, more than 1,200 institutional members across 96 countries utilize ZIMS to contribute to a shared database that supports conservation science and welfare.
