Sigil is a secure browser agent that lets AI systems control and automate Chrome without giving up security or control. Sigil runs inside your existing Chrome, preserving your sessions, credentials, bookmarks, and extensions while keeping sensitive data local. It connects to any AI through the Model Context Protocol (MCP), including Claude, Cursor, GitHub Copilot, and ChatGPT, so agents can act in a real browser instead of a sandboxed copy. Security is built in, not bolted on: • Configurable guardrails restrict what an agent can do, enforced at the network level so they can't be circumvented. • Semantic page snapshots are sent to the agent instead of the full DOM, which dramatically reduces token usage and cost. • Full audit logs give you visibility into every agent action, supporting compliance and oversight.
