Shofar is a communications and event operating system built for churches and non-profits, designed for the staff and volunteers who handle announcements, events, and church systems together. An event is entered once in Shofar. From that single event record, the platform generates the communications for it: an email newsletter item, a text message, social media drafts, bulletin copy, and a stage script for the service host. Event planning tasks, deadlines, and the shared staff calendar are attached to the same event, so the announcement work and the planning work live in one place instead of separate documents and apps. Shofar includes contact management with audiences for targeting messages, public forms for collecting information, and cross-channel scheduling with a calendar view intended to prevent conflicting sends. Text messaging runs through registered A2P campaigns, and consent collection — including opt-in records and STOP/HELP handling — is part of the onboarding process for each organization. Shofar uses AI to draft message copy. Messages are reviewed and sent by a person; the platform does not send text or email messages autonomously, except for responses a contact triggers through a form or keyword.
