Shifta is a Swiss shift scheduling and time tracking app for small and medium-sized teams: restaurants, bars, cafés, hotels, bakeries, shops, gyms, medical practices and any business that works in shifts.
Managers build the weekly staff schedule on a clear grid, reuse last week or a template, adjust it in a few taps and publish it. Every employee gets their schedule on their phone, with a notification for each change.
What Shifta covers:
- Staff scheduling: weekly grid by section, open shifts, recurring shifts, breaks, week templates, hours per person and an alert when someone goes over their hours.
- Requests: shift swaps, time off and availability, approved in one tap.
- Time tracking: hours logged by staff at the end of a shift, or clock-in and clock-out on an iPad kiosk with a personal PIN.
- Timesheets: weekly hours signed by each employee, and exports in CSV and Excel for payroll or your fiduciary.
- Labour cost: scheduled hours against worked hours, and labour cost as a share of revenue.
- Team messaging: channels and direct messages, so the schedule no longer lives in a WhatsApp group.
Shifta runs on the web, iPhone and Android, in French, German and English. It is used by teams across Switzerland, from French-speaking Switzerland (Vaud, Geneva, Valais, Neuchâtel) to German-speaking Switzerland.
Shifta was started in Switzerland by two students. One of them used to plan a seasonal team himself, on Excel and WhatsApp. We built the tool we wished we had: simple to set up, and priced for small and medium-sized businesses.
