BOBcloud is a cloud backup and recovery service for businesses, MSPs, and IT resellers, operated from the United Kingdom by SCDC Limited. It provides managed, encrypted, off-site backup for servers, workstations, virtual machines, and SaaS data, with all customer data stored in UK-based data centres.
The service covers file and folder backup, Microsoft Windows Server and Linux systems, Microsoft SQL Server, Microsoft Exchange, Hyper-V and VMware virtual machines, NAS devices, and cloud workloads including Microsoft 365 (Exchange Online, SharePoint, OneDrive, Teams) and Google Workspace. Backups run on a schedule set per machine or per backup set, with configurable retention policies and multiple restore points, allowing recovery of individual files, folders, mailboxes, or entire systems to a point in time.
Data is encrypted on the client device before transmission using AES-256, transferred over TLS, and stored encrypted at rest. Encryption keys are held by the customer, so BOBcloud has no access to backup contents. Incremental and block-level backup reduces bandwidth use after the initial seed, and deduplication and compression reduce stored data volume.
Administrators manage backups through a web console showing backup job status, success and failure history, storage consumption per account, and per-machine reporting. Email alerting notifies administrators of failed or missed backups.
BOBcloud is available direct to end users and through a reseller programme. Resellers get a white-labelled portal branded to their own company and domain, multi-tenant management of customer accounts, and a reporting API for pulling account, storage, and backup-job data into their own systems. Billing is based on data stored rather than per-device licensing.
Deployment requires installing a backup agent on each protected machine; Microsoft 365 and Google Workspace backups are agentless and configured through the console.
