Law firms, fiduciaries and healthcare providers handle documents they may not hand to a cloud service, yet they need to share them, publish them or use AI tools on them. Celatum removes the personal data first, on the user’s own computer.
The on-device AI model detects more than 50 types of identifiers in Word, PDF, Excel, CSV, Markdown and text files: people, organizations, addresses, AHV/AVS numbers, IBANs, dates of birth, phone numbers, email addresses, court references and case numbers. It works in German, French, Italian and English, including documents that mix them. Every finding is shown in a review panel before anything changes.
Users choose between permanent anonymization and pseudonymization with consistent stand-ins such as “Person A”. The pseudonymization key stays on the device, so text can be sent to LLms and the real names restored afterwards. Word files keep their formatting, and headers, footers, footnotes, comments and document metadata are cleaned too. Bulk mode processes whole folders.
No document data leaves the computer. Celatum’s security was independently assessed by OneConsult AG (Zurich). Pricing starts at CHF 29 per user per month, with a 7-day free trial.
