Absenca is leave management software for small businesses and growing teams. It replaces spreadsheet leave trackers with one place where employees request time off, managers approve it, and everyone can see who's off.
What it does
- Leave requests and approvals: requests go to the right manager automatically, with a backup approver when they're away. Everyone gets email and in-app notifications.
- Balances, accrual and carry-over: vacation, sick leave and custom leave types, with accrual rules, carry-over policies and live balances. Half days (AM/PM) and time off in lieu (TOIL) are supported.
- Team calendar: see who's off across the company. Filter by department, see public holidays for 190+ countries, and subscribe from Google Calendar or Outlook.
- Leave policies per office: each office has its own leave year, work schedules, holidays, notice periods and blackout dates, so teams in different countries run on their own rules.
- Slack: request leave, approve it, check balances and see who's off without leaving Slack.
- Calendar sync: approved leave goes onto each person's Google or Outlook calendar, and shows as out of office in Outlook.
- Reports: absence trends, Bradford Factor scores and CSV export.
- Roles: admins, office admins, managers and employees, each seeing only what they should.
Who it's for
Teams of 5 to a few hundred people who need proper leave tracking without paying for a full HR system. Absenca does leave and absence only: no time clock, timesheets or payroll.
