QuiénCubre is a web app for schools in Spain to handle staff absences, cover and timetables in one place. It is built for the leadership team that sorts out cover every morning.
When a teacher is absent, for a whole day or a few periods, for one day or several weeks, the app reads that day's timetable and proposes who covers each period. First the teacher on duty, then staff with a non-teaching period in the order the school sets, and on a tie whoever has covered least, or by rotation. Periods the school marks as off-limits are never used, and any proposal can be changed by hand.
The daily cover sheet lists each group, who is absent and who covers. It can be copied, printed or opened by staff on a phone or computer, and the school decides what each role sees. Covering teachers can get an email with their day, period and group, without saying who is absent. The app never asks for or stores the reason for an absence. A cover count shows how many times each person has covered and when they last did.
Weekly timetables by stage support one-day changes, dated versions and earlier versions, and a new school year carries over staff, groups and rules. Accounts have two-step verification, passkeys and new-device alerts. Data is stored in the EU. An optional AI assistant can record absences or check who can cover; it asks before changing anything and never deletes.
