Safe Alone by ProTELEC CheckMate
CheckMate protects people who work alone: custodians, home care staff, retail closers, field technicians, property managers and anyone else on shift without a coworker nearby.
Workers complete scheduled safety checks with one tap in the Safe Alone app, or by pressing the Smart Button, a small wearable that pairs with the app. If a safety check is missed, it does not go to a supervisor's phone and wait. It goes to ProTELEC's Five Diamond certified monitoring centre in Winnipeg, where a trained operator calls the worker, then notifies the emergency contacts you designate, with the worker's last known location on screen. If nobody on your list can be reached, an optional guard wellness check sends a licensed guard to check on the worker in person, where available.
Workers without smartphones are covered too. Phone Safety Checks work from any phone, including landlines, and satellite devices cover areas with no cell service.
Managers get a web dashboard with every safety check, alert and response timestamped, which gives you the audit trail Canadian working-alone regulations expect.
ProTELEC has been monitoring since 1968 and launched CheckMate in 2003. Today it protects 9,000+ lone workers across 900+ Canadian organizations and handles more than 3.8 million safety checks every year. Monitoring is included in the monthly price, with no setup fees and no long-term contract.
