Predax is an IP intelligence and fraud prevention API. In a single request it tells you whether an IP address belongs to a VPN, proxy, Tor exit node, datacenter or verified search-engine crawler, and returns a 0-100 risk score together with the signals behind it.
It is built for teams that need to stop card testing, fake signups, credential stuffing, scraping and other automated abuse without turning away real customers. Every response includes the underlying evidence - ASN and network operator, country and city geolocation, hosting type and threat-feed matches - so you can decide which categories to act on rather than accepting an opaque verdict.
What it does:
- Real-time IP classification: VPN, proxy, Tor, datacenter and verified crawler detection
- Risk scoring from 0 to 100, with per-signal reasons and configurable scoring weights
- Bulk lookups: synchronous batches of up to 100 addresses, plus asynchronous jobs for larger lists
- Full network context on every lookup: ASN, organisation, geolocation and cloud-provider ranges
- Threat data refreshed continuously, including Tor exit nodes and known malicious ranges
- IPv4 and IPv6 coverage
Integration:
A documented REST API with examples for PHP, Python and Node, plus free WordPress and WooCommerce plugins published on WordPress.org that add visitor screening and checkout fraud checks with no code. The plugins treat verified search-engine crawlers separately from ordinary traffic, so category rules such as datacenter blocking do not deindex a site by serving 403s to Googlebot and Bingbot.
Pricing:
A free tier of 5,000 requests per month (1,000 per day) with no credit card required, and paid plans for higher volume.
