We used POVA for a pharmacy chain while conducting forensic accounting consulting project for them. POVA changed in the last few years and now the product is very good. It does deep analysis of all the sale data and related audit trails and builds cases with easy to follow narrative and proof lines. It makes it very easy to triage and followup. It runs locally on the retained data we already had so there is no fear of data leak. After the analysis we just deleted the whole server instance. We keep in touch with them for complex cases or cases with too much data to manually review.

We use it to scan our operations in a chain of coffee shops. We use it every six months to make sure nothing is developing. Our staff knows and actually appreciates that we don’t rely on them to spy on their co-workers but we put the tools in place to identify manipulation by staff. POVA is very convenient as it does not just give alerts with random suspicion but no clear verdict but rather makes cases where all the facts are aligned and point to a specific conclusion and we can interview and get to the bottom of the suspicion in an afternoon and act decisively. It will not give us any faint signal only what it thinks is established case and I rather get that than a thousand exceptions.
