ZenTransfer is a camera-to-cloud FTP relay service designed for professional photographers, photojournalists, and media organisations that require reliable, real-time image delivery from the field. It connects a camera's built-in FTP client directly to cloud storage, editorial ingest systems, and wire services — eliminating the laptop and card reader from the transmission workflow entirely.
A single upload can fan out simultaneously to multiple destinations: Google Drive, Adobe Lightroom, Dropbox, OneDrive, Amazon S3, Microsoft Azure, and Google Cloud Storage. Email delivery, webhook notifications, and a REST API support integration into existing editorial and production pipelines, while a Zapier connector extends compatibility to over 5,000 third-party services. Metadata can be applied automatically in transit, reducing post-processing overhead at the desk.
The service runs on a globally distributed FTP edge network across nine regions and six continents. All cameras connect via the single hostname ftp.zentransfer.io, with automatic routing to the nearest healthy node — a critical reliability factor for uploads over mobile hotspots in unpredictable field conditions. Service health is continuously monitored and publicly visible at status.zentransfer.io.
A desktop application for macOS and Windows complements the cloud service. It supports automated sync of incoming files to editor workstations or ingest machines, as well as manual upload for post-cull workflows or cameras without native FTP support.
