PaxMed (paxmed.in) is a Hyderabad-based healthtech startup that helps people in India find the fair price for lab tests and medicines, then book home sample collection or home delivery. It is neutral: it owns no labs or pharmacies, so it can show prices from several providers without favouring any one.
What users can do
Compare prices: lab tests across Healthians, Thyrocare, Redcliffe, Apollo, Lucid and Lupin, plus medicine prices.
Book: home sample collection with cart, checkout and Razorpay payments, on web, Android and iOS.
Understand reports: upload a report or prescription and get a plain-language explanation. Three independent models check the output against WHO and ICMR sources only, and prescription scanning (OCR) finds the right tests and medicines.
How it makes money
Commission: it earns from partners on each order: 50–70% on lab tests, 20% on medicines, and 40% on general items through eVitalX. It also has a small platform fee.
B2B: employee health-check programs for companies, and an API for an insurer that wants to offer PaxMed packages to its corporate clients.
Differentiators
Neutrality: competitors such as Tata 1mg, Apollo 24|7 and PharmEasy sell their own services.
Real transacted-price index: live today.
Longitudinal health record through ABHA: built, not yet enabled in production.
Condition-based subscriptions: in development.
