Direct-to-Digital Staining
PathScience is a digital pathology technology company focused on Direct-to-Digital Staining.
PathScience uses imaging and machine learning techniques to generate H&E-style virtual stain images from unstained tissue scans. The product is designed to support pathology workflows by moving digital pathology upstream, closer to the point where pathology images are created before they are viewed, managed, or analyzed in downstream systems.
PathScience is initially focused on dermatopathology and Mohs surgery workflows, where tissue visualization, turnaround time, tissue preservation, and pathologist-centered review are important. The system is intended to help pathology teams generate familiar, interpretable H&E-style images while reducing reliance on traditional chemical staining steps.
Core capabilities include image capture from unstained tissue, AI-enabled digital staining, generation of H&E-style virtual stain images, support for existing digital pathology workflows, and a technology foundation that includes issued patents related to virtual staining.
PathScience is developing Direct-to-Digital Staining as an upstream layer of digital pathology. The product is designed to support pathologist review and workflow efficiency, not to replace pathologists or function as autonomous diagnostic AI.
