Palou is a free platform for pet blood donation, connecting dog and cat owners with veterinarians and clinics across Germany. When an animal needs a transfusion after an accident, during surgery, or as ongoing treatment for anaemia and other chronic conditions, the matching system automatically contacts suitable donors nearby, factoring in proximity, blood type, donor health, and time since the last donation. Owners register their pet in a few minutes and decide whether it also serves as a donor. Clinics use Palou to build a local donor pool and plan reserves ahead of emergencies. The platform is run by Palou e.V., a recognised non-profit association based in Berlin, with software developed and operated by Wheels & Wings Lab GmbH. Registration and use are free.
