Meteroid was so far the only billing platform centered around the idea of metered/usage-based pricing, which we found while almost building our own solution. We quickly managed to integrate it with the provided documentation, and for any questions their support was not only very helpful, but also very fast. Performance wise there were no issues that we found, event ingestion works fast, and webhooks are very reliable. Overall Meteroid handled most of our revenue flow from checkout, to plan/subscription management as well as invoicing and payment handling, since they come with Stripe Integration as well. For extra convenience they automatically detect the appropriate Tax Rate for the billing country and apply it to the invoice. The UI is very intuitive to understand and still provides the necessary depth to manage all aspects of billing without having to use the API. For us choosing Meteroid was worth it, as they have a fair %-based pricing model which scales with our business. The choice to make Meteroid open-source also helped us build trust in the system, as well as ensuring it would remain a stable platform to rely on. The biggest shoutout goes to the Meteroid Dev Team, as we required a feature they did not yet offer. When we asked for workaround ideas, they just flat out offered to build the feature for us.
