Merkantor is e-commerce software that you install on your own hosting. The files and the database stay on your server.
Requirements: PHP 8.3+, MySQL or MariaDB, and Apache, Nginx or OpenLiteSpeed. Standard shared hosting is enough; SSH, Composer and Cron are not required. The installer measures the server and shows, item by item, whether the hosting package is suitable. Installation is four steps: upload the files, prepare the database, complete the install screen, test the sales flow.
Updates arrive as a signed package. A backup is taken before the update, and the update is rolled back if something goes wrong. Automatic backup and restore tools are included.
Store management: products with variants, stock quantity, SKU and VAT calculation from one admin panel. An AI writing assistant helps with product descriptions; the AI provider account and its usage fees are separate. The interface is Turkish by default and English can be selected during installation.
Payments: real payment checks have been run for iyzico and Stripe. PayPal, PayTR, bank transfer and cash on delivery are also included; verify them with your own account before going live.
Scope outside Turkey: the shipping integrations (Yurtiçi, Aras, MNG), the e-invoicing connection (Nilvera) and the legal templates are written for Turkey. Elsewhere, tracking numbers are entered manually, and invoicing and legal texts remain the merchant's own responsibility.
Licence: paid once per domain and used without time limit. No renewal fee, and updates are included for life. Merkantor takes no commission on sales; payment, shipping and e-invoicing providers may charge their own fees. Hosting and domain are not included. Technical support for the first year is included, through a ticket in the admin panel.
Merkantor is commercial software, not open source. A demo store and its admin panel are open to visitors; the data is test data and resets about every 15 minutes.
